life is strange is honestly such an emotional rollercoaster…but i love every second of it T_T the characters are such a huge part of why i love this game so much too. max, chloe and kate will forever have a special place in my heart<3 i also genuinely think the characters are written so well. somehow the game manages to make you understand and care abt almost everyone, even the characters you’re meant to dislike…besides, yk…that person. if you’ve played the game then i’m sure you know exactly who i mean xD i absolutely adore max and chloe together too. pricefield will forever have my whole heart and nobody can convince me otherwise :3 i also love how the game explores topics like trauma, grief, mental health and loss while giving us such lovely queer representation. it all feels so natural and it just made me care even more abt everyone and everything that was happening. one of my favourite things abt life is strange is how much your choices make you stop and think. i also absolutely love how much dialogue there is bc it makes all of the characters feel so much more real. and the music…oh my gosh. it fits the game so perfectly and i genuinely don’t think life is strange would feel the same without it. there’s just something abt arcadia bay that feels so cosy and nostalgic…minus all the trauma and chaos xD overall if you still haven’t played it then pls…go play it. trust me. bae over bay. always. 10/10<3
This was one of my brother's favorite games. I had to 100% it for him and throughout the entire game I was reminded over and over again of how much I miss him. I would give everything to have him back even just for a moment like max would for chloe but unfortunately I don't have the power to rewind time. I love you ben and I hope you played along with me wherever it is you are.

I have to say upfront: the remaster probably wasn’t 100% necessary. I played the original back in the day, and I’ve also played the remastered version again now. It’s fine, but it’s not really something special in comparison. Still, I want to leave my full review of the game itself, because that’s what truly matters here. I honestly don’t think I can fully put into words how much Life is Strange means to me, but I’ll try. This is, without exaggeration, the best written story game in gaming history. No other game has ever made me feel a narrative this strongly, this personally, and this emotionally connected. From start to finish, the story is simply outstanding. Every decision matters. And I mean every decision. Unlike so many other games where choices feel cosmetic or irrelevant, Life is Strange constantly proves that even the smallest actions can ripple through the entire story. It genuinely feels like you are shaping the experience yourself, not just following a scripted path. That level of interactivity with the narrative makes every moment meaningful. There is never a feeling of wasted choice. The soundtrack deserves just as much praise. It is absolutely perfect for the tone of the game and elevates every emotional moment. Even years later, I still find myself listening to the music outside of the game. It has stayed with me long after my first playthrough. I first played the game back in 2018, and even now I keep coming back to it in different ways—watching playthroughs, talking about it with friends, revisiting key moments—just to relive that experience again from a different perspective. Nothing has ever fully replaced that feeling of experiencing this story for the first time. Since then, I’ve played around 15–20 other choice-driven narrative games, but none of them come close. Life is Strange is on another level entirely. It didn’t just set the standard for me—it defined what I expect from the genre. The characters are well-written and believable, the atmosphere is unique and emotionally rich, and the world feels alive and grounded in a way that supports the story perfectly. This is more than just a good game. It is one of those rare experiences that stays with you. I also have to add something personal: I probably cried about 4–5 times during this game—and I am not someone who usually cries easily, especially not from stories. But this game hit me emotionally on a completely different level. I still remember my first impressions after Chapter 1—I was honestly just thinking, “Yeah, this is pretty nice.” Nothing more. But then Chapter 2, 3, and onwards completely changed that. It slowly pulled me in deeper and deeper until I was fully hooked. The game doesn’t just tell a story—it drags you into it without you even noticing until you’re already completely invested. By the time I realized it, I couldn’t stop anymore. I ended up finishing the entire game in just two days, pulling an all-nighter because I simply couldn’t stop playing. I kept thinking about it constantly even when I wasn’t playing. That’s the best way I can describe it: this is perfection. 10/10 ⭐
The remasters are decent enough, but technically unnecessary. (Turn that brightness setting way up!) Still, I'm glad I own them. I don't consider any game past the first game as canon. The meaning is in the moment, not in the franchise machinery that came later. The first game is a complete emotional arc: self‑contained, mythic in its own small way. Everything after it feels like someone else picking up Max’s diary and trying to write in her handwriting. And, yes, I like some of the other games, to greater or lesser degrees, but they’re separate in my mind. Something that’s especially funny is watching the same people who now declare the newer LiS games “woke” conveniently forget that the first Life is Strange was already left‑leaning, queer‑inclusive, and anti‑authoritarian — all while being critical of the small‑town conservatism that leads to the kind of subversive, wealth‑driven maneuvering that betrays the very ideals the town claims to uphold. When it launched, plenty of players were furious about its politics — the environmental themes, the queer subtext, the anti‑police sentiment, the anti‑patriarchal themes, even the gender of the protagonists. The idea that the original was some apolitical golden age and the sequels suddenly “started catering to a demographic” is pure revisionism. The first game was the demographic: outsiders, weirdos, queer kids, artists, people who felt like the world didn’t quite know what to do with them. The only difference now is that some in the culture‑war crowd retroactively claim the original is “safe” because they need a baseline to complain about the newer ones. Good writing lets the characters grow; excellent writing makes you grow. That’s what the first Life is Strange pulls off so effortlessly. Max and Chloe change, sure — but the deeper transformation happens in you. You quietly evolve because the game keeps handing you choices that make you confront what you value, what you fear, and what you’re willing to stand by. That’s why the original lingers long after the credits — not because the characters learned something, but because you did. ♥
