Good game. I recommend. My only issue is that the term "Emoji" is used in a supposed 2000's era setting. These should be emoticons.

𝐹𝒾𝓇𝓈𝓉 𝐹𝑒𝑒𝓁𝓈 ⇒ I found lily’s world XD, to be a surprisingly entertaining and provoking experience. There’s a lot of digging, investigating, and actually using your brain to piece things together, which I really enjoyed. 𝒮𝓉𝑜𝓇𝓎 ⇒ The story goes much deeper than I initially expected. It touches on some major issues that are unfortunately a part of many people’s lives, and I really appreciated how the game was willing to explore those topics instead of shying away from them. Some parts genuinely creeped me out, which I think speaks to how effectively the story was told. 𝒫𝑜𝓈𝒾𝓉𝒾𝓋𝑒𝓈 ⇒ I also really liked how the game blurs the line between the game world and reality. Being able to use things like your real email or make calls to uncover information made the experience feel much more immersive. It really felt like I was becoming part of the world rather than simply playing through a story. As an every-word-reader, I especially enjoyed it from beginning to end. I took the time to read everything and look into all the details, and I think the game rewards that kind of attention. 𝒪𝓋𝑒𝓇𝒶𝓁𝓁 ⇒ I really enjoyed lily’s world XD. It’s nice to see developers acknowledge and explore some of the rougher subjects and serious problems that exist in today’s society. It made the story feel meaningful rather than just being something to play through. Definitely a game I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys mystery, investigation, deep storytelling, and games that make you actually think. ★★★★☆

This game exceeded my expectations, especially in its narrative. It's a great story and is relatable to anyone who's experienced body image struggles. I found the exploration of cult dynamics really interesting, although it required a bit of suspension of disbelief at times. I didn't love every element of this game, mostly because there were things which hindered the brilliance, which is definitely in there. Ultimately nothing ruined the good parts for me, so I still recommend it. Pros: -cute os explorer with great visual aesthetics and music. -analog horror elements have great moments, especially the really glitchy ones -immediate intrigue due to the personal touches and childhood images and photos -engaging detective story, really competently told with nice payoff at the end -certain elements, like when you're trying to type an ex cult member's email in your notes and the keys keep sticking and backspacing were incredibly effective in building the dread and the claustrophobia of being monitored -fun arg elements -great exploration of body image and relationship with food -personal touches (images, anecdotes, etc.) which added depth and heart to the story Cons: -I expected more horror, or maybe just different horror, and the horror elements were usually just creepy, random, and ultimately didn't make a ton of sense due to how the horror was being caused narratively. I don't believe that the person causing the horror would have made those horror choices, like sending images of Lily's face crossed out . I think leaning into the logic of how the horror was being caused could have been explored more and utilized more, like the example in my Pros section. That moment was so impactful and gave me chills for a second. The horror for me was what was happening in the narrative primarily, and secondly the sinking sensation of not only being watched on Lily's computer, but also potentially being stalked. This concept is so scary and could have been leaned into and really terrified me. Due to the current panopticon of sorts we live in, it's not hard for me to be spooked by how much surveillance we experience. I started to realize how much scarier it would have been if that element of the horror here had been explored more fully. -There were many times in this game when I tried to do things I should have been able to explore, and just couldn't. For example, I was trying to use a website used to search peoples names and identities for other characters, just to see what would come up and if I could learn more information about them, and I could not. I did this once to maybe try to find the answer to the next puzzle, and I couldn't explore it. Some more opportunities to explore and tunnel into things like that would have added more of a richness to the world. -this will disappoint people looking for a difficult puzzle detective game, as it is not difficult. I had a great time playing this, and think anyone who has enjoyed other os explorers would enjoy this game!
