cute and spooky game, but the backrooms section was awful and almost made me quit. you walk way too slow for that kind of "easter egg" meme section and its a miserable experience lol

While I thought most (if not all) the scares were pretty cheap- and found the Backrooms easter egg REALLY annoying to play through- it was still really fun! I'm a sucker for sim games and Photomaly certainly succeeds in making the actual gameplay loop very engaging. I wouldn't say it's perfect, but definitely good for an indie game and worth its price tag.

A fantastic analog-aesthetic horror game centered around running your missing father's seemingly-haunted photo shop with a secret. There are some comedic moments, good scares, fun references, and can be thoroughly enjoyed and fully completed in around 2 hours. Highly recommend for those who enjoy the genre!

I am a sucker for "cosy horror" and especially ones styled in a PS1-Esque style, this is no exception. A very fun, creepy and intriguing game with great scares and some real funny (yet unnerving!) moments that fit into the paranormal aspect. The playstyle loop is easy to learn and the camera system is fun. I should mention that one section of the game did pull me out and made me feel a little less immersed, especially for the length (Not stating which part for spoilers sake) and I wonder if it would have been better without or by making the section shorter. However; considering this is apparently the dev's first solo developer game, they're starting out with a fantastic first impression. Definitely one to watch out for!

Photomaly is a short but highly atmospheric horror experience that stands out with its unique concept of running a photography studio. Ordinary daily tasks gradually become more unsettling, while the PSX-inspired visuals and excellent sound design create a constant feeling of unease. Although it can be completed in around two hours, the game makes excellent use of its runtime and never feels stretched. Its story, atmosphere, and steadily building tension make Photomaly a memorable experience that proves a short horror game can leave a lasting impression.
