This is another investment review. The game as of this review is a bit rough and there isn't a lot to do. It also has various bugs still running around, the Devs have put out several patches in the last week or so that have improved performance (for me at least) and fixed bugs. Honestly this game has a way to go. The current game play loop consists of making a ship, traveling to a new island, exploring it, getting new resources, and upgrading your ship. If you want thrilling combat or interesting moment to moment game play, it isn't here yet. But, if you like building ships and exploring and are okay with a couple bugs then this game is great. I give this game a positive review not only because I wanted worlds adrift to succeed and this is its second chance, but because what is here is genuinely good and has potential to be great.

This game is a gem, but if the amount of reviews appropriately telling you that the game has a boatload of bugs still has you on the fence, here's a few things that might nudge you the right way: 1. This has the best grappling hook you've ever used in a game (yes, including Spider-man games' web swinging). It'll be hard for you to get used to in the beginning, but that's because the game allows for pretty fast speeds led by a proper physics system, and your body weighs like it should. 2. You get the wing-suit about 262 hours into the game (yes, I still don't have it). You've seen it in the trailer, you know you want it, the devs know you want it, and you'll have to call in sick to work a couple of times to get it. If that bothers you, please refer to point 1. 3. The devs are actively working on the game, primarily focusing on bug-fixing, which is good because it absolutely needs it. Nothing game-breaking, but a lot of them. Nonetheless, if bugs bother you too much, please refer to point 2. 4. I have no clue how much procedural generation they used, if at all, but every island I've visited had its own individual look and feel, with its own specific puzzles (some of which involved the terrain and the movement system in cool ways). They had landscapes ranging from open archipelagos and tall mountainous spaces. Some areas have crazy ravines , while others an awesome group of tall islands connected by massive vines that will definitely create a long-running feud between you and gravity. They all feel like they were made for you to fully utilize (and frankly abuse) the movement system. If any of these seem a bit massive, please refer to point 1 and 2. 5. The ship system feels a lot like Sea of Thieves, if that game let you build your own ships and bolt as many weapons onto them, however unreasonably. At first, they feel a bit basic and slow, but you soon start unlocking better and cooler-looking parts that quickly make you forget about the floating piece of wood you started with — the one that vaguely resembled Tom Hanks' raft if someone had super-glued Marty McFly's skateboard to it. The bad 1. It feels like it has a decompressing issue when the game tries to load a chunk as you're approaching it or when crossing a specific point on an island, which then makes the game stutter momentarily; I could be wrong about the reason, but this needs to be addressed because it can lead to breaks in the gameplay's otherwise awesome momentum. 2. It's got some issues and performance can take a hit sometimes, but it's nice to know they're actively working on these and that they are very responsive on Discord. TL;DR: This review is pointless because nothing matters, you're a nerd, the cake is a lie, and I just wanna go back to grappling myself to death — or whatever other dumb way of dying this game seems to encourage.

Man... This game is a tear-jerk when and one I hold personally close to my heart of all the 200+ games I have on steam. I remember back in 2017 I was working at a car wash, 21 years old, patiently waiting to play World Adrift as soon as I finished my $10/hr job. I was playing non-stop. I just loved Worlds Adrift. When it was announced that the game would be shutting down due to financial reasons with the world-hosting I was heart-broken. Desperate to play the game again. In that time span, I had survived the Las Vegas Shooting, enlisted in the military, finished 3 deployments and now I am a veteran with 90% disability at 29. I saw this game pop up on my recommended and I checked the developer and saw it was none other than Bossa Studios. I just finished working and I felt a sense of nostalgia instantly from the flying stingray's. But instead of remembering how much I hated them, It was nice for a change. As soon as I built my ship and sailed off I couldn't help but get emotional. Remembering how simple my life had been just working at a car wash. Before the mass-shooting, before the numerous deployments, before I went out to be an adult and this was the last real game I sank time into during my youth. I am entirely grateful you guys have brought this game back not only in spirit but with a face lift and a beautiful world. I am excited to see where this game goes and to anyone wondering if you should get it, I would say absolutely. Thank you in addition for adding the nostalgic WA ship's helm/flag/plaque in remembrance to WA. I can't wait to fly it high. And to all my WA veteran's out there I hope this game brings you back the same catharsis it has brought me.

WA Survivor here! We're back guys! Bossa's giving it another shot, and Im here for it. Its not quite WA, but its close enough to the original. The roots are here. The nostalgia is definitely here. Ship building, puzzles, exploring! Very easy to get lost in the game! In a good way! Devs are transparent, and communicate very well with the community. This is their redeem dream! Its EA, so bugs, and optimization will be addressed! However, please be patient and take the time out to really enjoy this gem. Only way to go is up from here! Good luck team!

base building, exploring, gliding, climb all over everything and a grappling hook.. some of the stuff u can do with it is pretty cool. it looks comfortable to solo but id bet it would be loads better with a few friends. crafting kinda takes a back seat on this one. it's kinda bland just grab this grab that and create. so it isn't super intense or anything. climbing is like Breath of the Wild but no stam drain. flying/grappling mechanic's are really on point for a early access, you can tell they made damn sure it worked as advertised. only played for such a short time but the grappling hook and the flying sold me so my post is just to confirm that this is not a dumpster fire and looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun.
