The world looks beautiful and has this strange, quiet mood that pulls you in. There’s a lot to explore, build, and mess around with, and it feels more relaxing than stressful, which is rare for a survival game. The dev is clearly passionate, updates are frequent, and the potential here is huge. If you enjoy slow, atmospheric games with creative freedom and don’t mind early-access weirdness, this is worth checking out. I’m not sure what to expect but I do want to come back and see what this turns into.
i either love this game for its absurd level of jank, or i will be refunding it, i haven't decided yet. here are my favorite bullet points so far: -you start with a functional glider that spawns from nowhere, but you cannot loot or interact with oil lamps or furniture -you start with your ass hangin outta your underwear, but you cannot wear that pair of sweatpants if they're for the wrong gender. fun fact: i am sitting here in a differently gendered pair of pajama pants, AT THIS MOMENT, IN REAL LIFE, WITTE STUDIO YOU ABSOLUTE MANIAC LMAO -every single living creature (or zombie if you install the optional DLC, which i highly recommend as it just adds a whole new layer of jank) has the most bizarre behavior you will see in an early access video game -this is not an early access video game?????????????????? -there's DLC????? like for MONEY???????? -i bought this in a bundle with another of the dev's games, which i didn't want and will never play, but it was cheaper than just buying this game alone this whole thing feels like a project by an outer space alien who had seen 1 early access open world survival craft on the steam store and tried to replicate it three years later from memory. do i recommend that people buy it? man, i dunno, but where else are you gonna find an experience like this
I REALLY want to like this game. The graphics are beautiful. I can play as a girl. There is a odd mood about the place. This has SOOOO much potential. The developer is very active, there are constant updates and improvements. I just agree with folks who have commented that the world feels somewhat empty. There are lots of wonderful animals, but you can only interact with the dog, no husbandry even though there are chickens and such. There are LONG stretches of land that are barren, you just run and run and run. I didn't really feel inclined to grind and build, there are too many empty buildings around. I hated going through everything I had to in order to get a map, and I never ended up making markers. I never found any quests or information about the island story. I hate leaving do not recommends, especially when it is a individual developer. I would give this a "meh" if Steam had the designation. This game has incredible potential. I caution against expanding too soon... making new maps and whatnot, without honing what is already in place. I will check back and revisit and see where this game goes because I do think there is so much here, and I believe that ultimately it will be a fantastic game
I played this game a while back, and it was totally under-developed. After watching the amount of updates I decided to try it again. WOW! It's pretty awesome!! As far as survival games go, it's not as hardcore as some I've played, but it keeps me engaged. The terrain is really nice. The only confusion I have is why he took the map out of the game. I haven't created the GPS or hand device yet, so maybe those will clear navigation up for me. In my experience, there's not a lot of tutorial, but it's relatively easy to figure things out, and a bunch of stuff is opened as you progress, like many games. The developer has put a tremendous amount of thought into the game. Harvested items go directly into the bag, crafting is fun and easy, vehicles and mounts are effortless (no gas needed, no feeding, etc). You can even adopt a pet! There's also a helicopter I can fly in the mountain map. Never seen that in a game before. I love the items in loot chests respawn occasionally, and there's no shortage of mats since they respawn as well. He took a lot of the usual "gaming stress" items out of the game. Some items don't stack well...needs work, but I love that looted/crafted items go into the main task bar first, then in the right side task bar next, then in the bag. I also love that the items in my task bars don't also take up space in my bag. I started on one of the new maps, the mountain one. Beautiful realistic terrain, but there are tons of bugs and the map is really small. After watching some videos, I went back to the original map. Game changer. Haven't run into any bugs yet, there are more vicious animals to be aware of, and the map is humongous. So far, I'm absolutely loving it!!! I think he'll put more time into the new maps, so don't get discouraged. I'm giving this game a huge thumbs up!!!
