A fun game and tool all in one! Admittedly, it was a bit of a learning curve for me but after some time and patience, this game becomes a very helpful creative outlet. Shout to the dev for not only making this game/tool, but for also providing the game dev community free accessible assets to use. Saw a negative review here that said they used gen AI due to a misunderstanding of the "generate idea" feature— that's not true. The dev is very much against generative AI and is loud about it on their Bsky account! Another plus for me as a creative.
It's basically The Sims build mode, with a full colour wheel, clipping allowed without cheats, and a built-in custom furniture editor. Lovely aesthetic that's easy to work with when making your own custom works. A few minor interface issues, but it seems they are being worked on actively by the developer.
Yes I'm gonna recommend this game because I do enjoy it, HOWEVER, I kinda miss some things that would make the game better. the decorating is great, but what made me get the game is that you can design your own furniture. Howeer, I feel like the controls are difficult to use. I kinda wish it was similair to Planet Zoo building! Not only the building controls are weird, but so are the camera movements. I kinda miss an option to 'CRTL + Z' where you can undo your last action. Now when you undo something it brings back a piece you deleted. Also missing an 'grouping' optionsso I can move certain parts around and not have to do this part for part or move the whole canvas. I see people creating absolute artworks in the workshop so maybe this is just me ;) Speaking of the workshop, love that. Love seeing what other people made and be able to use it in your decorating. And you can easily upload your own items too!
Amazing game. It's first and foremost a sandbox game, which means it's about creativity and making wonderful little dioramas. The requests part of the game is very short and more like a little add on introduction to the core mechanics and the type of furniture you can use, and also serves as a way to provide inspiration for the type of rooms you could make in case you don't know where to start and are intimidated by a blank room. The place the game is AMAZINGLY interesting though is the fact you can make your own custom items, it has an inbuilt item editor/creator that uses standard shapes which allows you a surprising amount of freedom, allowing you to really let your creativity expand. There is an in game way to upload these to the workshop for others to use, and you can instantly use them in your own dioramas, I've been having a ridiculous amount of fun with this. It's like baby's first 3D modeler. Additionally, the developer of the game is super responsive to community feedback and has managed to make significant updates to the game every single week since its launch, introducing new features, many new items, QoL tweaks and other helpful changes, it's a huge amount of support at an impressive rate for such a small game. Can't recommend enough!
