Dec. 2025
My review is very long and I can't fit the whole text because Steam is blocking me, so I'm posting the rest of my review in the comments. Science fiction role-playing game in which, as Commander Shepard, you make decisions that affect the fate of the galaxy and the development of the story. I recommend playing this trilogy starting with Mass Effect 1, as the plot is closely linked to the subsequent parts of the game. After more than 130 hours of Commander Shepard's beautiful adventure, I finished this great game and I regret that there are fewer and fewer games like this, where you can follow the adventure of one character for over 130 hours with practically the same team. I fell in love with Commander Shepard and the whole team. First, I will write about my general impressions of the game and its common elements, and then I will move on to describing each part of the game separately GENERAL ADVANTAGES ✅Probably the biggest plus of this game is, of course, the characters, because several heroes accompany us from the very beginning of the game to the very end spoiler (Most of the team that appears in Mass Effect 2 also appears in Mass Effect 3 ). What I mean is that we interact with them a lot (it's worth staying on our ship and spending a few minutes chatting with our friends rather than just following the plot and ignoring them ), and we are also rewarded with idealist points. It's worth not skipping them, as some of the dialogues are epic and very funny ✅As for the game world, it's really huge in each of these parts of the game, and I have great respect for the developers for managing to do it (from places truly teeming with life to dark places of horror) ✅Excellent storyline, very well-written dialogue and dubbing, and the main plot runs from the very beginning to the very end of the trilogy, with the finale of these events taking place in the last hours of the game, concluding the entire trilogy ✅I will write more about my home country, that the Polish dubbing was up to the task, as in parts 1 and 2. I also regret that there was no Polish dubbing, but the English dubbing was also excellent ✅We have as many as 5 difficulty levels to choose from ✅The game also features so-called idealist and regenerate points, and it is up to you what kind of hero you want to be: an idealist who is focused on heroic, compassionate and moral choices and wants to have good relationships, or a cruel, insolent person who wants to have bad relationships. Thanks to these decisions, which are up to you, new dialogues can be unlocked that are only available with these points. ✅Very rich notes, in which we learn about many things, and there is a lot of detailed information about many things, primarily about planets, races, the equipment of some weapons, improvements, companions, and technology. ✅Character development and gameplay mechanics are of a very high standard. The shooting system, skill development, and tactical elements form a coherent whole. The very clear interface makes it easy to command the team and efficiently manage our equipment and that of our allies who accompany us throughout the game (what weapons they should use and adding points to their skills), and we also have two options to choose from: the first option is that we use biotic or technical skills against the enemy ourselves, or we set the options so that they do it automatically ✅Before starting our adventure, we can choose whether we want to play as Mr. Shepard or Ms. Shepard, and we also have to consider what type of player we are, whether we prefer fighting with firearms or whether we prefer ‘magic’, i.e. biotics or technology, which also changes the development of skills, as a soldier will have slightly different skills than, for example, an adept (So we can choose between a soldier (I chose this option myself), an adept, an engineer, a spy, a guardian, and a stormtrooper), and we also have to choose options that affect the dialogue in the game, i.e. who Shepard was before the events of the game (a colonist, an Earthling, a spacefaring person). ✅In each part of Mass Effect (of course, it depends on how we conduct dialogues with our potential partners), we could have romances, and if we didn't have them in part 1, it doesn't mean we couldn't have them in part 2 or part 3. ✅The consequences of choices that, to a greater or lesser extent, affect the further course of the plot you will make the most important decisions in Mass Effect 2) ✅An epic soundtrack that fits the situation in the game very well. My favourite track is the soundtrack called I Was Lost Without You <3 ✅A very good price for 3 games and all the extras that are included here MASS EFFECT 1 The game tells the story of Commander Shepard, who discovers the existence of an ancient race of machines called the Reapers and tries to stop their destruction by working with various races of the galaxy and making decisions that affect the fate of the world ✅The largest selection of weapons and comparison statistics for each type of weapon ✅The largest selection of upgrades, primarily for various types of weapons and armour, which were separate for humans, separate for Turians, and so on (As I recall, there were upgrades from 1 to 10, and sometimes I had a headache trying to decide what to choose ✅In this part, we can already make interesting decisions that will affect ME2 ✅The largest number of missions and the most planets to visit, to which we can return at any time (unfortunately, in Mass Effect 2 and 3, we cannot return ) to, for example, collect some deposits due to the acceptance of a side mission ✅It is worth doing some side quests because they may also be mentioned in the next part of the game ✅What I really liked was the hacking system (e.g. safes, doors) in order to collect credits (not all of them can be opened, so we need a companion who has developed electronics to the appropriate level) Hacking takes the form of a mini-game where you have to keep the indicator in the safe zone, being careful not to overheat the system (we can also skip this by using omni-gel ✅Lots of characters in the Citadel who give you various tasks that can be done on the spot, and some that must be done outside the Citadel ✅The greatest character development in the sense that we have the most skill upgrades for ourselves and our allies, and there were simply interesting powers to use in the game ✅Wide variety of races and enemies ✅The best character movement ✅The possibility of using a special vehicle in quests, which works well in the mountains, called the ‘Mako’ ❌Most side missions are boring ❌It's a shame that the developers didn't come up with more interesting hacking systems, i.e. mini-games ❌Stiff combat mechanics; I found shooting the worst in this part ✅✅✅✅ Verdict: Very Bad , Bad , Average , Decent , Good , Very good , Excellent , Masterpiece If you have any questions about my reviews, feel free to ask. I'm happy to answer them. All reviews are my own!! Best regards, King Viking Bezimienny, Polish Game Reviewer.

This trilogy is not a game, it's an experience. I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite game on the Steam store.

A really good remaster of the trilogy, with the only downside being the way they handled installation. Compared to the Halo Master Chief Collection.. you can't choose which of the games to keep installed.. so you are forced to download over 100gb even if you want to play only one of the games

If you’ve never played Mass Effect before, let me just say this: you’re in for something special. This isn’t just a sci-fi shooter. It’s a full trilogy where your decisions actually carry weight, across three games. Your Shepard is your Shepard, and the squadmates you meet along the way? You’ll probably end up caring about them way more than you expect. The Legendary Edition gives the whole series a fresh coat of paint and puts everything in one place. It looks better, runs smoother, and includes all the DLC. so you’re getting the full experience from day one. The gameplay holds up (especially ME2 and ME3), but it’s the story and the characters that make this unforgettable. You’ll have moments that stick with you long after you finish. Trust me, I’ve played through this saga more times than I can count, and it still hits. Final Score: 10/10 Gameplay: ★★★★☆ Story: ★★★★★ Characters: ★★★★★ Music: ★★★★★ Emotions: Too many

A Cinematic Trilogy Review After 100% As a player who has never once touched any Mass Effect game until now, I was extremely excited when I picked up the Legendary Edition, even on such a fantastic discount through the Steam sale. This trilogy has done wonders for me, and it felt that each iteration of the game continued to build a great deal of momentum after the ending of the previous installation. This series does so well in capturing what it's like to recruit a stellar squad for space battle, and the developers clearly put so much thought and passion into how they wanted each character to be portrayed within their respective cutscenes. I most likely can't explain anything new that you might not already know as this series has been out for such a long time, however if you haven't picked up the Mass Effect Trilogy already then I can confidently say it is worth your time, effort and full attention. For well over a full month I was immersed, transitioning from game to game, and maintaining the knowledge I learned from the previous game. I would recommend playing each game back to back so you can retain the storyline and have it fresh in your mind. As it stands, Mass Effect 2 has worked its way into my top 5 games of all time, and you can call it recency bias or not, but the second game withstands as a measuring stick for all RPG's to aspire to be. The trilogy is often on sale for an incredibly cheap price, so if you can purchase it on a sale and get your money's worth for well over 100+ hours of content, you're in for a magnificent treat.
