classic hack slash arena rpg with cute anime girl. Buyable and developable character. Developable stats that strengthen our characters - the special ability is given for every character. The combat system is surprisingly good. I particularly liked that among the characters mainly focused on melee combat, there is a gun-wielding waifu who can be quite useful.

Blanc + Neptune versus zombies is a tongue in cheek parody poking fun of just how ridiculous and convoluted the Resident Evil "lore" has gotten with each new entry! Blanc finds herself writing a zombie movie script for the film club at her school with some mysterious force in the background actually turning people into moaning groaning walking cadavers. Is it a virus? Misused share energy? A sealed away demon god? Beats me,fam. There are a lot of deliberate "jump cuts' with a blurred line between what is fiction and what is reality! Eventually it begins making sense but it is a slow-burn in that regard. Chances are the story is inconsequential as to why you are considering picking this one up. The main draw of Blanc Versus Zombies is the character roster which surprisingly is the best one in awhile! You get the usual Blanc,Neptune,Noire,Vert,Rom,Ram,Nepgear,and Uni line-up along with Famitsu,Dangekiko,Tamsoft,Uzume,Plutia,and Peashy. There are also an assortment of "assist characters" that grant beneficial effects when triggered making the whole set up feel like an old school "dream match" fighting game! It would be easy to state if you liked Action Unleashed you'll like Blanc Versus Zombies as it is a sequel in all but name. However,there are notable differences along with the similarities. 1. Blocking and dash evading are much more important as enemy mobs and bosses hit harder. 2. Can go into HDD form almost instantaneously. From then on so long as your specials are hitting enemies it will keep your gauge charged. This is similar to Action Unleashed but it feels more refined here. 3. No clothes ripping mechanic but you are allowed to select outfit variants that are already damaged. 4. Your stats (HP,Power,Defense,and Technique) are essential. Update them with growth points whenever you can! 5. There are new enemy types along with the usual mobs. The zombies that throw their own heads,Frankenstein monster doggos,and re-animated-from-a-museum pompadour sporting delinquent raptors made me smile and chuckle! 6. There is a store for weapons and items as well as a forge for fusing together monster parts into helpful buffs or alterations that can be fastened onto your pew pews or whacking sticks of choice! 7. The overall story is better thought out and has more layers than was found in Action Unleashed. 8. There are conditions to unlock more outfits and actual cheats but sadly there is no challenge tower. 9. Want better combos? Be sure to put more growth into your technique stat! 10. Camera is a nuisance sometimes. 11. Seems easier to increase lily rank between the girls. 12.Co-op for those of you with actual social lives! 13. The tutorial can be brought up anytime in the main hub menu so despite the control inputs being somewhat different you are not left in the dark without a torch. 14. Relatively "short" and though the main campaign was fun I do wish there was more side-quests and other side content beyond smashing harder waves in co-op. 15. The dream-team roster is much better than it was in Action Unleashed. Being able to genocide goofy-goons with Uzume,Plutia,and Peashy was a real treat! (Especially if you already have knowledge of the mainline Neptune rpgs or the Neptune anime.) Tamsoft is a nice newcomer addition as well. Obviously this Vita port ain't "Game of the year material" but it has enough heart,humor,and fan-service to make it worth a pick up,especially if Blanc is your favorite oshi! (Ditto if you appreciate what musou/hack n slashers bring to the table.) The full retail price is just $14.99 and on sale it goes for much cheaper! PS: Kind of strange how C-Sha isn't in this one as it is a mirthful love letter to Capcom's survival horror catalog!

I was one of the top players in the American rankings for this game and one of the first people to finish it on the PS Vita. It's not the best Neptune franchise action game because the story is one of the worst. It's an action game though, so I can cut it some slack. The fighting is adequate, but it isn't as satisfying or responsive as Action Unleashed or even Goddesses Online. If you liked Action Unleashed you might just like this one too. Just don't play it for the story. You'll be sorely disappointed. They should have kept the button configuration from Action Unleashed with d-pad down to switch characters and d-pad up to transform. I don't know how many times Blanc and Company got pulverized because of that change. Action Unleashed is the best Neptune action game in my opinion, so buy it instead. 6.5/10

pretty good game, doesnt take too much dialogue to play but still fun regardless. Neptune seems to be strongest character with/without upgrades while other characters seem to be vulnerable with enemies attacks without proper upgrades and items.

Decent game only handicapped by the Uni x Nepgear Yuri Sex Scene being an hour long as opposed to the 5 hours I anticipated it being.
