People said that this game can make you cry, more on that the game itself told that the devil may cry as well! An absolutely adorable game that I have no word to describe it fully. All I can say that the menu theme will haunt me forever just how Omori, Until Then did to me

I came into this game after trying the demo and was intrigued by the unique take of RPG. I didn't realize that the story comes first before the gameplay. I did enjoy the different 'skills' that each enemies have and how I had to balance healing and fighting but the game itself is very linear. The tag 'linear' did not lie; there's no free-roam and you're told to go to specific locations only. I think the map is simply there for the autosave to kick in. Sometimes I wonder, might as well teleport me to said location since I have no choice but to go there anyway. It's basically a VN with a bit more button pressing. The story itself isn't super new, it touches just the right emotion and the relationship with all characters and reveal were entertaining enough. However, I did not enjoy the pacing on some of these story telling. They get repeated a lot. The opening sequence gets repeated again when you reach a certain part of the story; there's a lot, and I mean a LOT of remembering / recalling things that happened just a few minutes ago, with the same dialog, same pacing, but an additional information because now it's told in a different POV. I think if they cut those moments out, the game would be much, much shorter. Having more enemies, random or otherwise, would've helped maybe, but I understand that this isn't the type of game where you need to grind your level because there's a big boss at the end. There IS a big boss at the end, but the game pretty much hold your hand when you fight by giving you a lot of hints on how to fight them, so you never really have to worry about it. Granted, I did die when fighting later bosses from not healing enough. Had I come in expecting story first, gameplay second, I would've enjoyed this game much more. I still recommend it because it's definitely unique enough for people to try. I also cried at the end so that should mean something. I kinda wished they did more with the gameplay and the whole you're a buff dude but if you get hit, the child get sad, mechanics. So I was left disappointed when I got to the end of the game. Ah well. The music is great. The art style is lovely. The dialog (excluding the repetitive ones) are funny.

Really wholesome game which doesn't overstay its welcome. It's just some good fun, and while some of the themes are pretty tough I don't think it's out of reach for kids.

Pretty cool game. Adorable characters, heartwarming story. The gameplay is entirely narrative-driven. Combat is not very challenging, but keeps itself fresh and entertaining. Very much recommended.

This game is simply amazing, I've 100%'d it in a single afternoon in 6 hours and a half, the story is amazing, the characters are amazing, the pixel art is so good, the story is also so well paced, combat is easy but still really fun. This really feels like a "Odencat" game, they do amazing games, if you liked any other games from them and you liked them, then you should really give this one a try. If you want to play this as your first and you end up liking it, I recommend you to check the rest of the games! I just love the Odencat world they are making, I loved all the "afterlife" story that it is told in bear's restaurant and fishing paradiso, and I've love the story that it is told in snowman story. This game tells something different from the same world. I can't wait for future games with more stories about this world they have been cooking up! And I can know for sure that I'll love future games as much as the ones that I've already played. I love Odencat company and their creations as a whole!
