Midnight Fight Express is a top-down John Wick style beat 'em up. I went in expecting a decent indie brawler but came out genuinely impressed by how tight and brutal the combat feels. It's easily one of the most satisfying action games I've ever played. The Positives: [+] Incredibly satisfying combat (Every punch, throw, and disarm feels weighty and impactful, and chaining combos across a room full of enemies never gets old) [+] Skill tree that actually matters (Unlocking new moves changes how you approach fights, not just numbers going up) [+] Weapon variety (Lots of variations of guns, knives, bats and other environmental objects) [+] Level design encourages creativity [+] Great sense of momentum (Vaulting over cars, kicking doors into enemies, and using the environment keeps fights fast and chaotic) [+] Character customization (Unlock tons of outfits, masks, and cosmetics that don't affect gameplay but add personality) [+] Well optimized (no stutters even in the busiest fights) The Negatives: [-] Story is good and mysterious at first, but it gets boring after the first half and it's mostly forgettable [-] Soundtrack is very fitting with the gameplay, but it gets repetitive. [-] Camera can get a little disorienting during hectic multi-enemy fights in tight spaces [-] I didn't like the inclusion of some of the extremely hard enemies by the end. I quit at the Scorpion Queen boss fight. It's too difficult and feels broken.

The perfect game for blowing off steam and quickly having fun, just like the good old games. Reminds me Double Dragon, Streets of rage, Die Hard Arcade, and Fighting Force to name a few, but with Batman Arkham combat system. The story makes no sense; it’s just an excuse to revisit popular tropes from games or movies. There are a few spikes in difficulty here and there (for example, with the zombies and the Scorpion Queen), but overall, the game is very satisfying and challenging enough. And the soundtrack is awesome. Yes, sometimes the graphics look generic, as if they were bought from an asset store, but respect for the solo dev, I couldn’t have done better myself. Gosh, I really miss this kind of game so much in today’s market!

I dont understand why this game is not known. The gameplay was absolutely insane, story might be a bit weird but the action packed sequences my God. I havent had this so much fun since sifu or batman arkham series 8/10
