100% Achievement Review: A quick review based on my experience completing all the (available) achievements. (NO ACHIEVEMENTS) Title: Mini Ninjas Summary: Cute action-adventure game Personal notes: Mini ninjas is a action packed ninja adventure. You start off as Hiro, a Ninja who can control ancient kuji magic. You are tasked by the Ninja Master to go investigate the dark forces taking over the land with evil kuji magic as well as the 5 other ninjas that have not returned from the same quest. I played this game years ago on the Xbox 360 and loved it as a kid and honestly had a blast playing it as an adult as well. The graphics are simple and cute but fits the game well. Along with it, is a subtle yet fantastic soundtrack that really captures the various areas you see during your ninja quest. I found myself more often than once finding a nice spot and just taking a moment to appreciate the world. The story itself is also quite typical but was enjoyable, with the addition of unlocking new playable ninjas with progress I was fully intrigued the whole way despite partially remembering the story-line. For a game released in 2009 it holds up really well today. My only point of concern with this game is that there are a few bugs. I only ran into one, that being a no audio issue where I couldn't hear a thing. I resolved this by downloading and installing a file, that being OpenAL. (https://steamcommunity.com/linkfilter/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.openal.org%2Fdownloads%2F). Other than that, this game is a hidden gem from a previous decade that I wish got a sequel. I would highly recommend for it's asking price, just keep in mind you might need to fix the audio. Time it took to complete: 13hrs Most difficult achievement(s): - N/A Difficulty rating: - N/A Overall rating: ★★★★★★★★☆☆ 8/10

I bought this game for nostalgia's sake. But now that i'm older and playing through it, i realize just how good this game is for it's target demographic. I mean it, this is GREAT for children. It's cartoonish sure, but it's mechanics are really good for giving a young player a training ground for developing problem solving skills. It doesn't promote you just blindly charging in, a quick scan of the environment can give a player quite a few approaches for tackling enemy positions. The stealth mechanics are simple and easy to pick up, requiring a player to make good use of the environment. there's some small side objectives to complete, a small alchemy system to combine ingredients into potions. The combat is great for teaching prioritization to a young player as well, with the different enemies. Spears are best not charged into, red armoured archers can have explosive arrows so keep moving etc. It's not something an adult would find challenging, but for it's target age there's enough here to unpack and familiarize oneself with. If you're a parent and have a child that you want to challenge a bit, this game holds up great. It's gorgeous as well, with moments of serene cross-country travel across a stylized landscape, allowing the player to search for potion ingredients or little side-paths and collectibles. I am not an authority on how well it has aged culturally. But I will say that as a child it did give me a great introduction to the aesthetic of Japanese history as well. It's not just ninjas and samurai, but figures such as the Tengu are also recurring characters, and the castle designs and enemy weapon choices are really well translated to an adventure game for children.

Mini Ninjas is one of those childhood games that I remember with heavy doses of nostalgia. Outside of the fact that I had to download some patches off Steam, I still believe it holds up pretty well! For a children's game that is... It's pretty simple, and with all the tools given, I had to force myself to use different items or characters as the game doesn't pose much need to do so. On the plus side, it's ever as charming as I recalled it to be, and it looks and sounds great even after all these years. I would actually love to see a more polished game (mechanics-wise) in that style and world, as I find it to be very endearing.

When I was younger, my mom gave me an Easter basket before church. In it contained some candy and this game. My life was changed. I absolutely adore mini ninjas with all my heart. There is such a charm to this game that few games can deliver. The combat is fun, engaging and the whole game is surprisingly deep for what it looks like. There’s a great collection aspect of the game, and the character switching feels great. I’m playing this on the steam deck and the control scheme feels even better than it did on the Wii. One of my all time favorites, highly recommended.
