Mount & Blade is a total fulfillment for childhood dreams of crowns and conquest. It was the first PC game I ever played. I remember every Spring Festival when I went back to my hometown for family reunion the biggest excitement was to play Mount & Blade with my cousin. We raided villages, stormed castles, and laughed until the fireworks faded. I ain't got no pennies to buy the game back then, so I once copied the desktop icon onto my flash drive, praying it would run on my Dad's computer—it didn’t, but the hope still glows. Years gone by my cousin has married and become a father, while I still boot up the game from time to time. The graphics aged, yet the freedom feels eternal: one more caravan to chase, one more castle to take, one more kingdom to overthrown. Swadian knights thunder, Vaegir arrows darken the sky, hearing phantom hoof beats on familiar plains. Mount & Blade is not just as a game for me but as a keepsake of brotherhood and boundless imagination.

2300 hours says it all. It is totally fun and satisfying. Graphics are not too bad. A medieval Conquer the World game! I won with every faction.

Released 15 years ago. Ugly as hell. Clunky combat. Dumb AI. Basic sounds. ... And still more fun and addictive than most modern AAA games

I've played this game for 10 years now. I ran this on the families old windows Vista PC. I fought everyone everywhere became a lord of every kingdom. and when I was done I modded it and did it again. I didn't know what a comfort game was until I found myself coming back at least once a year. It looks old on the best of days but this game is P E A K.
