After 25 years of playing games, I thought I'd finally become numb... Remember when you were a kid, and everything just felt more colourful, more vibrant? As you get older, things change. I still enjoy games, but what I get out of gaming is different now. Satisfaction from overcoming challenge? Critical analysis of the game itself? Curiosity to see how people can still keep innovating? I'm not sure what it is exactly, but it's something along those lines. A good story in a game can still move me, but it's usually just the writing. Yet in Neva the game is so audio-visually harmonious, it feels like I'm experiencing a small dose of that childlike sense of wonder once again. Vibrancy and vitality. Goosebumps from just the art and sound design alone. The only other game that's managed a similar feat since I grew up has been Outer Wilds. If Outer Wilds rekindled that old feeling, it was by reigniting my childhood sense of curiosity - through exceptionally clever design. Neva, on the other hand, captures that magic through the audiovisual department - through art. And that's not all the game has to offer, but the rest isn't as important to me as what I've written above. It's got a satisfying mix of gameplay and progression. Simple but fun combat. Nothing extraordinary, but still high quality. I've heard the story is fantastic, but I've not yet finished so am not qualified to comment on that yet. I am invested though. If, like me, you're looking to re-experience gaming through that rosy nostalgic lens once again - Neva may just be the game for you. Neva give up on the search.

Life is hard. We run in circles, over and over again; never really stopping to question why. We find partners, friends we can place our trust in. We face hardship. We lose. We lose ourselves, we lose our friends. It can all feel so pointless. But there are certain points in these cycles where it's important to stop and recognize. To ask that ever elusive question once again: why? Because if you listen closely in those precious moments, you can hear the answer. And although it can never last, as nothing ever does, we fight on. Because even if we know what's coming, even if we see it coming from miles away over that familiar horizon, It's still worth it. It's always worth it. If only to make it to the next cycle, to the next moment. So make sure to drink it all in when you can. Take your fill, because it won't last forever. But when the hardships come, fight like hell. Do not let them consume you. Because you'll want to be present for the next moments. And you never know when and where you might make a difference.

Neva is a worthy follow-up to GRIS, but can't fully keep up with the perfection of that unique game.

Playing this game has made me want to do something I have never done which is writing a review, This is not a great Review in my opinion but this game legit is amazing. Never once did I feel like it was unfair nor to easy. The puzzles were really fun and the Combat by far was my favorite parts in the game. (Goes for bosses too) Its been a long time since a game made me feel emotional to the point of teary eyes but this game did it and that means something to me. I will never forget this game and honestly would have payed more for it. Thank you Neva!
