Parkitect is my nostalgia trip back to Theme Park, a very cool balance of customization and very solid park management (economy, satisfaction etc). There is nothing much to criticize about it, it's well made enough all around to give you a couple 100h of enjoyment if you like theme park builders. Visuals are really sweet, just that tilt shift effect sells all the cuteness of the cool ride designs, animations and sounds. The only thing you need to be aware is that, the game being a bit old, the game becomes very intensive with huge parks ( above 3000+ pop ), which you will only reach after dozens of hours... so it's not like it's a big deal, and you can choose to make smaller condensed parks if you have a smaller rig. One last thing, we played the game a while back, and then we redo a coop park this year. And this winter, with the release of the DLC, we notice a systematic desync issue with a friend who is on the GoG version. We sent an email to Texel Raptor with the report, 12h later we receive an answer with a patch both published on GoG and Steam... during the (probable) Christmas break. I've never seen such a dedicated support on a 7yo game, kudos to the team and thank you for the great game... be sure to take care of yourselves and enjoy your vacations!

I have to say, I do love this game, played it every now and again since it first came out, got 2 of the DLC's and played all the official campaign missions. The only issue I've had with it is that it slows down quite a bit once you get far into it. Yes I'm only doing a review for it cause I voted or it in the Steam Awards but I would have done a review a long time ago but I honestly thought I already had.

AN ACTUAL SUCCESSOR TO ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON! Two kids and no life later, I am a bit late to the party, but this is an honest to goodness spiritual successor to the Rollercoaster Tycoon franchise. Very reminiscent of RCT2 but it just gets everything right. At first glance it feels a little clunky, it did take me a minute to get use to not having 3D view. But! Does it get the game-play right! The rides all feel very familiar, even the mechanics take me right back. It's not until you get into the decorations side of the game, you realise how far ahead of RCT2 this game is. The props are designed in a way where you can layer them to create insane combinations of things, design entire streetscapes piece by piece, change the fencing on your rides, add customer flooring, heck add prop flooring. Collide props into each other to create new shapes. Colour, re-colour, copy, paste and just go crazy as you get lost in the beautiful detail. If you loved RCT. Parkitect solves everything problem around the design, while keeping the charming gameplay you loved so much. BEST GAME I HAVE PLAYED IN A LONG TIME! 11/10

There are two modern games that bring back the Rollercoaster Tycoon spirit. both are great. easiest way to say what their differences are: Parkitect is a sequel to Rollercoaster Tycoon 2, while Planet Coaster is a sequel to Rollercoaster Tycoon 3. PC is more about immersing yourself in the world of the park and really get into the nitty-gritty of like coaster building and such, while Parkitect has more of a focus on amusement parks as a whole, and puts particular emphasis on the background elements that are intended to be hidden from guests, as well as staff and money management.
