Phasmophobia is a truly unique game, unlike anything I've played before. Unfortunately, the community can be rough on newbies; I've been kicked from more lobbies than I can count just because I'm not high-level yet. But, if you score a good group or have friends to team up with, it's an experience you've got to try. Now, I'm not one for completing all tasks or nailing that perfect investigation; I'm simply here for the fun of figuring out the ghost type whilst being hunted. Sadly, the majority of players seem to be after achievements etc. and therefore the key is to find players who vibe with your style, or you might find yourself booted out more often than not. The community aside, however, this is a great game that's still going strong after so many years—a testament to its niche offering in a typically over-saturated gaming market.

Phasmophobia is the perfect game if you’ve ever wanted to scream like a toddler. The graphics and scares are great, and your friends will absolutely abandon you in your moment of need (and you’ll do the same to them, it’s fine) It’s like playing Ghostbusters but with less science and more running for your life. Highly recommend if you enjoy panic attacks, dark hallways, and a complete lack of teamwork.

fun game! until the ghost says "Nah Imma do my own thing" and completely ignores the games rules and becomes a whole new specimen in on itself. Jokes aside this game is very fun and challenging and scary as sh*t.

Phasmophobia is a fantastic co-op horror game, especially in the beginning. Those first 20-30 hours are filled with tension, excitement, and genuine scares. The atmosphere, eerie locations, and unpredictable ghost encounters keep you constantly on edge. However, after around 100 hours, the fear factor starts to fade. Ghost hunts become more routine, and you’ll find yourself going through the usual motions—gathering evidence, identifying the ghost type, and moving on. While it’s still enjoyable with friends, the initial thrill wears off as you become more familiar with the maps and gameplay. For me and my group, Phasmophobia is great when you have an hour to spare between other games. It’s fun to unlock new equipment, but beyond that, the game gradually loses its horror appeal. That said, playing solo can still provide a solid and tense experience. Considering I have over 150+ hours played at the time of this review, I would say it was money well spent in terms of value.

This game has grown on me in such an unexpected way. I have never been a fan of horror and was initially terrified when I first started playing and had no idea what I was doing. When that fear subsided and I became more comfortable with the game, you might expect that it got boring. However, Phasmophobia has become my favorite game to play, for the unexpected laughs and for being able to apply all the knowledge I have accumulated in my time playing the game to become a skilled ghost hunter.
