You play this game for the vibes. The character design is excellent; the art-style is so beautiful, enticing, and really adorable; the soundtrack is immersive (especially love the intro song, it's stuck in my head now!); there's a hundred cute pumpkins to talk to! Aside from how much I love the aethestics of this whole RPG to death, I also appreciate how it all just comes together at the end. When you get it, it's like, you start to re-contextualize things that happened before and the whole experience leaves a sweeter aftertaste with every ending you achieve. So, another plus- I love the story of this game. That said, this game is truly flawed; you're not going to understand what's happening in the first half and even at the end you just barely understand what's going on. There's a limit to how little context you can include for a mystery before it turns into a game of waiting for the end to come so you can finally know what's going on. The beginning of this game is.. so unnecessarily tedious. There are a hundred animations you can't skip, and that the characters seem to love taking dramatic pauses in their dialogue that you can't skip either; and they all just speak so vaguely oh my god it's so annoying. I did love this game though! I think it's super charming even before you understand what's happening- I can't emphasize this enough you really play this game for the vibes. But for an RPGmaker game especially; the story is critical because there's not a gameplay loop to keep you occupied. And for the story to take so long to get started, it just holds this whole game back. Oh and don't even get me started on how annoying it is to replay this game lol. I would probably replay this game two or three times from start to finish if there was a fast forward button of some kind!

While I can confidently say that Little Goody Two Shoes is the better game out of this duo, I still must say I recommend playing Pocket Mirror. Unlike other people, I'm going to recommend you play LGTS first before Pocket Mirror. Yes, I am aware Pocket Mirror came first, but Pocket Mirror makes 0 sense and also spoils literally all of LGTS. Well, most of it. The important parts, anyway. Pocket Mirror can be played and be just as confusing whilst having already played LGTS. In fact I would say it enhanced my experience since I wasn't attempting to figure out two big mysteries at once. If you've already played LGTS and you're wondering if you should play Pocket Mirror, you should. It's simpler but still a lot of fun and ties up every loose end from LGTS. I'd say my biggest complaint with this game is the puzzles. Most feel very unfair or downright unsolvable. Most of the game is spent running into doors to find out which one actually opens. If you're in it for the narrative just pull up a walkthrough. If you're in it for the puzzles, go play a different game. They aren't bad just... not great. TLDR: Good narrative, though you might get confused (rightfully so) and have to look up some stuff to fully enjoy, not great puzzles, great atmosphere and soundtrack as always, and some great horror.

One of the best horror games I've played This game is amazing and deserves much more recognition. Everything is incredibly well done and carefully crafted by the developers. From the visuals, to the story and soundtrack, the entire game has a very mysterious and horror atmosphere that kept me interested the entire time. The story is definitely the most interesting part of this adventure, as you play with an unknown character that doesn't know her name and goes through this adventure to discover who she is. As you progress, you meet other characters and understand who they are and what this adventure is all about; and when it clicks and you figure out the relation of the characters to the protagonist, what the game's world is and entire purpose of this discovery, it's a true mind blowing moment. There are also a lot of hidden messages and symbolism behind a lot of scenes and dialogues that goes very very deep; most of it can be a bit hard to understand at first, but when you finally get to put the pieces together, man, it's deep. It's impossible to talk about the story without spoiling it, so I can only recommend you go ahead and play the game already! The gameplay mechanics are fairly simple as it's a RPG Maker game, but between all RPG Maker games that I've played, this one feels special because it has very good 2D artwork and a lot of cutscenes on top of an excellent soundtrack and sound effects that make the game even better and more immersive. Also, depending on your choices and actions, you may face all kinds of deaths. Paying attention to the puzzles and dialogues play an essential part of the system, and also lead to different endings. The game took me 8h to beat with one of the normal endings and there are still multiple endings to be unlocked. With it's deep and mysterious story, replaying the game looks like it's going to be a whole different feeling than when played it for the first time, and also unlocking the other endings. With it's very deep and mysterious story, good 2D visuals and excellent soundtrack and audio effects, I think it's an amazing game and one of the best horror games that I have ever played. Absolutely recommended!
