Good short game, you can rush it in 5 hours, or take your time with a 10 hours run if you click every little thing and read every dialog of every npc like I did. There's 2 endings but you can see both in a single run by just making a save file at the last bit of the game and reloading that save file to see the other ending (you get a visual warning to save before you activate a ending so you can't miss it). As a side note I want to mention I really liked the way this game was translated. Yes, translated, not localized. You get the full experience with names like Ojou-chan and its meaning in parenthesis like "Hello Ojou-chan (young lady)" and then it's up to you to remember what that means when they keep using it. All places, characters' names and lore objects are handled that way. If you are a seasoned weeb you will have no issues with this. Overall a 9/10 game. Good story, good sfx, good ambience music, just a tiny bit forceful on the plot points.
At first, I didn't have high expectations, but the game exceeded them ~ which explains why it has received so many positive reviews. The story is masterfully crafted from the beginning chapter to the end, the characters are well-written, each with a good backstory that sometimes even earned my sympathy. Cuz it’s an RPG Maker-style game, the controls are limited (using arrow keys along with Z, X, A, and Shift), and the yōkai chases are unforgiving ~ one wrong turn spells certain death, which could be frustrating sometimes. Overall, I highly recommend this game to anyone who prefers narrative-driven experiences over horror RPGs that rely heavily on chase sequences.
I love this story, I love the characters. Personal tragedies intertwine across three chapters and culminate in an ending that made me tear up. The environments are beautifully crafted, the music outstanding, and the characters unforgetable. It's a near 10 out of 10 from me.
words cannot express how amazing this game is. i'm completely mind-blown by how perfectly the story and characters connect. every character is incredibly well-written, and the plot was so unpredictable that there was no way i could have guessed the outcome. this game is truly a masterpiece.
