This is not a game, this is therapy after a long day at work, no dark souls for me now, just these lil cutsie games, my brain can't handle tough bosses no more.

THIS IS A VERY TENTATIVE THUMBS UP BECAUSE I CAN'T CHOOSE A MIDDLE GROUND Adored the first game enough to buy all the dlcs even if I didn't care about the IP at all, was excited for this game and have put a good few hours in already. There's a few things I think prospective players should know about before jumping in, both good and bad. Note that I'm only summarising what I've experienced and therefore this list isn't exhaustive. I've only added stuff I haven't seen if it's been a major issue for others. I'll start with the pros and cons: Pros [*] Massive overhaul of the soap feature to the point I'm actually using it in this game [*] I'm finding myself actually switching nozzles instead of just using the yellow one all the time [*] The furniture and customisable base is a neat addition [*] Ulysses [*] Despite being buggy on launch, the multiplayer of the game is now fixed (I have not played the multiplayer so cannot comment on how fixed it is, or how bad it was) And now, the list that caused me to put the game down for a good while: Cons [*] No key rebinding. At all. Devs claim they're working on it to get it implemented asap and for what it's worth I do believe them, I do also believe it's important for prospective players to be aware of in case it's a feature they desperately need. [*] The job timelapses are glitchy and overall lower quality than they were in the first game [*] There is no way to reread all the mid-job text messages, meaning there's a chance you'll miss out on all the lore and charm the games have [*] The furniture placing has no indicator for when you're trying to put something where the game won't let you. You also can't put stuff too close to walls, other furniture, on top of rugs etc. [*] Still can't put ladders down once you've picked them up, instead having to move them around their set locations to keep them out of your way [*] Washer skins barely exist (I have yet to unlock a single one) And some lesser, more personal gripes: [*] The surface cleaner is clunky to use and feels like it has too little reach for the cleaning attachments, even with the longest range [*] The scaffolding is bugged in a way that causes it to still be useable in it's original position when you pick it up, meaning you can climb invisible ladders and effectively use it to fly. This is equal parts mildly irritating and hilarious. [*] The cat models tend to clip through themselves during their animations, but given they're just there to be cute and pet I'm not too upset about this one In summary, PWS2 is definetly trying to be bigger and better than the first game but unforunately that's led to some features you'd expect (and some that were present in the first game!) being either broken or completely absent. While I do have faith in the developers to eventually be able to deliver the game they hoped it would be, the game currently feels like early access instead of full release and could certainly have been left to cook a little longer before being presented as a 'finished' product.

This game made me dislike billionaire techbros and elected government officials even more than the first one did. 10/10 would spray again

Generally, PWS2 is solid. The innovations added to gameplay and the overall cleaning loop are immaculate, and I feel encouraged to use the entire spectrum of equipment I'm granted as opposed to just climbing the walls like a powerwashing chimpanzee. I will go over the good and the bad - as good as this game is, there is some things I've noticed that need fixing. THE GOOD - Graphical fidelity. Dirt looks muckier than ever, and washing it off looks refreshing, satisfying, and leaves a shine on the proper surfacing, while leaving bright, saturated colors on things that don't shine as much. Cleaning cars is utterly beautiful; the metallic paint on the Car & Trailer makes me cream. - New equipment. Oh, hell, this is a livesaver. Scaffolding has a quick top-ladder, the scissor lift is a far better alternative to just jumping and spamming the long nozzle in the first game, and the Swirlforce floor brush can be a genuine lifesaver. Pro tip for the swirler; use the free cam and make circular motions with your mouse as you sweep the floor. It works wonders. Not to mention, the soap rework. Far, far better. - Ulysses, Bubbles, and Squeak. Call me a Redditor, I don't care. Those 3 cats have my soul. I don't know where they found such good noises for the cats, but they're utterly adorable. Plus, you can pet them all! I have 3 orange beasts of my own, so the PWS LTD. cats remind me of them. - Maps. The map design is immaculate, and features, yet again, a stunning variety of jobs to complete, from a simple moving van to a roller disco, and even onto the interior of the Ancient Temple you cleaned in the first PWS . - UI. The menus are easy to navigate, and the overall HuD is nonintrusive and satisfying to look at, with multiple options for convenience and accessibility. - The gameplay. It's PWS1, but improved. Washers feel more satisfying, spraying down dirty domiciles feels even more liberating, and getting a new washer, or equipment for it feels gratifying, and like you've accomplished something. The buy & sell feature helps with this tenfold. THE BAD - Multiplayer. There's no better way to say this. Multiplayer is fucked. Utterly fucked. You can't find lobbies. You can't join lobbies. You can't host lobbies. You can't invite your friends. Rough, rough playtesting for multiplayer was a necessity, and I don't believe it was tested thoroughly enough. I could be wrong, and this could be one of those cases of "this didn't pop up until we dropped the full", and I do hope this is the case, but as it stands, this looks untested. BE MINDFUL. AT THE TIME OF REVIEW, MULTIPLAYER IS BROKEN. - General miscellaneous issues. Things I have a personal peeve against. In-job text messages cannot be viewed anywhere, as far as I'm aware. This makes lore hard to follow if you have to tab out of the game during a text message, or if you're too distracted with washing a certain item. The lore is great, so this is a very bad thing. You can't see the kind of material you're washing off of surfaces. This is an issue, because in the first game, being able to determine what you were blasting, and what your current washer did was a good way to gauge if you needed to either swap your nozzle to something more high-pressure, or outright purchase the next tier of washer. This was most adamant on the Vintage Car, where you had to blast rust off of the Cadillac with the red nozzle. This almost makes progression feel not worth the time and money spent, despite the obvious difference in power if you do compare the blasters. Harper seems to be attached to your soul or some shit. Considering the other lore of PWS1 and 2, I'm willing to look past it, but the dude sees everything. Is there, like, a bodycam on me? I'm scared of Harper Shaw, man. Game over, man, game over! That's all I have for now. Overall, I recommend this game wholeheartedly, but ONLY when they fix the multiplayer. Do not get it as is, and let FuturLab know that these issues NEED to be fixed. This game is at a bargain price - $25 USD for almost 45 hours of content - but the broken multiplayer gives it a very bad look. If I missed any pros or cons, feel free to add on to them.

Overall I'm enjoying it and it's been pretty bug free for me. However I have some complaints. 1. The menu is AWFUL. It's awkward to navigate and feels overly complicated. Why not have a menu more similar to PW1? 2. The menu to switch equipment is also bad and hard to understand. Why cant I just press E to see what equipment I have equipped?
