Game is solid. I'm a solo player and enjoying it. I like the aspect of having my own PVE island and gearing up from there to going into the intense Pvepvp island for a chance at better loot and finding quest items/gear. Only critique I have is the enemies on the Pve island spawn a little too fast and need to be adjusted.

Pretty good start. -The game has a ton of potential it reminds me of The Cycles mixed with The Forest. You build a base, survive, craft, and then go into an extraction-style PvP arena for more resources. It’s a great game-play loop. Just the whole premise is really cool. I also really like the style of the world the guns, characters, hell all the objects in the world, even the food looks cool. -That said, it still needs A LOT of work. Before I get into the negatives, though, I'll say this, I'm hooked. Even with the jank, it’s a good time, and I think this game will be a must-play one day. -Now lets get into the areas of improvement the game needs.... Survival Systems -Right now, it barely feels like a survival game. Food is everywhere, and the hunger rate doesn’t justify it. Your character only gets hungry roughly once an hour, and a single cooked meat restores you to full. As it stands, the hunger system feels pointless. -The weather systems are cool, but outside of lightning, they don’t actually impact how you play. There’s no temperature, heat, or cold system. There's not too much adding to the "survival" aspect for example something like windstorms slowing movement speed. Enemies -The mob variety is lacking. At the moment it’s basically just humans, dodo birds, hyenas, rams, and a gorilla. Hyenas in particular are frustrating their aggro is endless. Once they start chasing you, they’ll never stop until one of you is dead, which feels ridiculous for a mob that spawns around your base every five minutes. -PvP and human AI weren’t a big issue for me, but balance feels off. AI enemies can 1–2 shot you if you’re unarmored, yet it takes 3–4 bullets to drop them. Some are easier (like melee or bow-focused AI), but overall it feels inconsistent. Base Building The building system itself is solid and you can get really creative with the 1x1 blocks, but some things hold it back: -Any tiny bits of damage leaves holes in your base, which gets tedious to repair. -Certain foliage can’t be removed. Floors clear some grass, but bushes and other clutter remain, and tools like axes, pickaxes, or fire don’t work to remove those bushes you end up just having to build on them then it clips into your entire base. -Player bodies are a huge annoyance. After death, they linger and block building. We died several times at our own base, and the corpses stacked up to the point we couldn’t build. Quitting and rejoining clears them, but that’s not a solution. Just let us chop them up once looted, or set a 30-minute despawn timer. That would also improve performance by preventing dozens of body entities from piling up. Other Notes -Stamina capacity feels a tad too small. -The islands are cool but may get old fast. More biomes, different starting islands, or even procedural generation would add much needed variety. A game like PEAK has all of those aspects and keeps things fresh for an example. -There’s a lot of unfinished VO and buggy animations (reviving teammates, mantling, AI mobs, weapon switching while swimming/mantling, etc.), which can be pretty jarring. -PvP overall was fun, but I think health should be increased across the board. Getting one-shot with no armor is annoying at least make it so players can survive three hits before going down. -More music variety and higher frequency please. -Proximity chat. Yes pls. Final Thoughts Overall, the foundation here is fantastic. The game just needs more depth, polish, and content across the board. If those issues get addressed, I truly think this will be a top of the steam charts standout, addictive type of experience. I’d still recommend it even now if you can stand some jank. :)

This is a great PvPvE extraction game with core survival elements, but no where near the grind required. The loop is focused on doing PvE story missions on your own "safe" island and venturing out to a Western PvPvE island to acquire additional resources to progress the story and your gear. This is not a PvE survival game, so please stop leaving bad reviews because you want an entirely different game. Go play those games instead, which there are many. Please note that the matchmaking heavily favors placing solo and duo players together to try to keep a relatively balanced experience. There are outliers where you may rarely encounter a slightly larger group. I have only seen this happen one single time across roughly 40 hours of demo gameplay and live service on NA servers. This is a PvPvE full loot survival extraction game at its core. If you don't like these types of games, it doesn't mean the game is bad. The way this game blends story and PvP is rare in this genre and I hope it's successful enough to continue development. I'm also hoping to see a console release and crossplay added in the future. It would be great to play this with friends that don't have a gaming PC.

Okay so here’s the thing. I give this game a thumbs up because despite my own personal qualms with it, it’s still a very well designed game. I’ll go into my issues with it here in a moment but first the game is actually really good. In terms of its gunplay, base building, mechanics, graphics, sound, stability hell even the pricetag is appropriate. It’s got so much going for it, and yet it’s not for me. Why? Well I hate the fact that story, quest, technological progression is all tied to PVP. The only way to progress in the story and to progress in technology to use at your own little base builder is to go on an online PVP expedition where other players will literally shoot you in the head while your busy fighting a giant gorilla and they’ll take all your stuff before they themselves get sniped while hunting said gorilla. You’ll receive a quest about 40 minutes in about how you need certain supplies to improve your overall tech and take yourself from the stone age to the iron age and tech needed to progress the quest and main story. However, the only way to get the items needed to progress in both of these is to go online and forces you into PVP with other players in an extraction shooter based mechanic. Personally, I don’t enjoy extraction shooters. I wanted an open world survival crafting game. I didn’t get one. So I was already upset but despite this I continued playing. When it looked rightfully impossible for me to progress at all, that’s when I gave up. I didn’t come here for this. At the very least it would have been nice if you could opt out of pvp. But as far as I know you can’t. Regardless, despite me not liking the game. I give it a thumbs up because it’s still very well designed in almost every way. The gameplay, controls, most of the mechanics, graphics and more like i mentioned earlier are all very well designed. It’s just not a game for me. Make sure you know exactly what it is you’re getting into before you purchase. It’s a crafting game where you have to grind incessantly for resources AND an extraction based progression locked shooter. If you’d like a more in-depth look at the game with more information I encourage you to check out the review on my YouTube Channel (link below) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qj-z1jn0clE Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.

Build a hut for your friends. They'll burn it down. You'll cry deeply, then build a better hut together. Sail to another island, get murdered by the natives (and other players), escape a giant monkey. Its a good old time.
