In the first 20-30 minutes, I was 100% sure this will be an easy refund. It somehow didn't make an impression in the very beginning, looked like any other crafting game. It was even a bit boring, with a slow progress, and no inclination of what the story is (or at least I thought so at the moment). Then, me and my friend somehow pushed through, started completing the pieces needed to launch the main adventure (story) and got hooked ever since. Can barely stop playing it, this is one of the few games in my adult "era" that successfully kept my attention for 6 straight hours in one of the recent sessions. Even then I went to sleep only because it was pretty late and I was tired and had work to do tomorrow. Overall, I advise people struggling in the beginning to give this game a chance. If you find it difficult, then choose a lower level, and vice-versa. As time goes by and you start researching more stuff and going deeper into the story, everything proportionally gets better. :)
Raft is a fantastic and fun survival game. It is very fun with friends, and I do recommend everybody to play this game. I have somewhat mixed feelings on the story? I do not fully understand the story, but nevertheless, it all works out. And, the boss fights are really well made and work very well! This game is really fun! 10/10
It's good but I would've liked more rafting in this raft game. The game starts out pretty rough, you're in a constant struggle to keep your bars full, crops and raft protected and gathering resources to actually progress in the game. It's a frustrating part of the game because there's no down time and progress is slow. Once you get over that hump, you reinforce the raft and start to get some down time and agency the game has a great upswing. Building your ship at your leisure and exploring some islands. *But* This is the point where the game decides the raft is no longer the focal point of the game. It's just the place you stand for 10 mins as you travel between story islands. Story islands you slowly have to walk around, doing simple puzzles and jabbing animals with a spear. So, pretty dull and not exactly leaning into the whole 'raft' gimmick. Usually a game, advances by giving new challenges to overcome as you progress, no. The most challenging and engaging part of this game is towards the start, and then it just drifts to sleep leaving you having prepared for a challenge that never comes. 6.5/10
