The quality of this game is insane. This has some of the best visuals and polish that I've seen in a VR game. Very few games can even be compared the HL:A, but I think this game comes very close. The story, atmosphere, mechanics, puzzles, visuals...everything is top-notch. This game has the glassiest looking glass I've ever seen in VR. The IK arms and the polish of things like the interface cable are a super nice touch. I was very, very impressed with this game. None of the puzzles were hand-holdy or hard. I was able to comfortably make it through the game at a steady pace without any help. Each of the environments really drew me in, and I spent my sweet time taking it all in. Well done to the devs, I hope we get more from them.

Red Matter 2 takes everything I loved about the first game and somehow pushes it even further. It’s not just a great VR title; it’s one of my favorite games, period. I played the original on my Quest through Quest+ and it quickly became one of my all-time VR favorites. The story hooked me, the atmosphere was incredible, and I’ll probably buy it on Steam one day just to replay it. While I haven’t finished Red Matter 2 yet, so far it’s been just as good, if not better. Edit: Bought the first game on steam as I no longer have quest+ and I want my friends and family to experience it. Visually, both games are absolutely stunning. Even running natively on the Quest, the level of detail and environmental design is some of the best I’ve seen in VR. I think it’s probably the best-looking game you can get on the Quest at the moment. I think it’s arguable for a few other games, but this 100% holds its ground. If you’re looking for a VR game that feels like a complete experience and doesn’t suffer from the usual downside of VR titles being cheaply made because developers hesitate to fully invest in VR, this is it. Even if you’re not particularly into VR or would only play it if it’s genuinely good, not just good because it’s VR, this game is fantastic. Honestly, I’d recommend it even if it were a flatscreen game. Also worth mentioning, this is one of the rare VR games I actually enjoyed playing while sitting down. It doesn’t compromise the experience at all; the immersion is still totally intact.

This is a really good game from a technical perspective. It does look quite stunning with the resolution turned up to max on a high end GPU. The story is kind of lacking and it does maybe not have the atmosphere of the first game but overall this is well work playing.

Red Matter 2 takes everything I liked about the first game and cranks it up a notch. I love the puzzles, the story seems really intriguing, and graphically it’s gorgeous. I like that this time around, your character is voiced - makes it much easier to become invested in the game and its world. The puzzles seem fair so far. They’ll make you think for a bit, but nothing that’s going to make you look up solutions online. At least, from what I’ve experienced in the first 2 hours. That might change in the later areas. Performance has been great. No major bugs to report on. My experience has been as smooth as butter. If you’re into VR puzzle games and want something with great VR mechanics, I highly recommend the Red Matter games.

Overall an enjoyable sequel which has a bit more of an action-adventure bent than precursor with some new ways to interact and traverse. The shooting of the "dispensed" defense drones got a bit too much though. Favorite parts were some of the planetary vistas especially when landing on Neptune's moon. The score was also quite nice and had a certain John Williams/Star Wars-y vibe. If there is a Red Matter 3 at some point, I hope there will be a bigger focus on more space-goodness/exploration of alien vistas.
