coding is math. shapes are math. graphs are math. patterns are math. architecture is math. symmetry is math, as is asymmetry. puzzles are math. optimization is math. colors are math. emptiness is math. all is math, and I am admittedly very bad at math, but been thoroughly enjoying the process.

ANYONE WHO CANT CODE: I have played this game for about 5 hours with no formal CS training or even having coded a single time in my life, so don't let that stop you from giving it a try. I think the most impressive thing about this game is how it shapes your thinking. the game constrains you on two axis' at the start, that being code size and average cycles (both somewhat arbitrary). It is hard to figure out what would be more efficient at a glance but someone with much more prowess in the subject will love the drive to optimize these 2 numbers. As a new player to replicube and someone new to coding there is still enough free play here to ignore these constraints and solve the puzzles outright, they will be difficult regardless of your intention to optimize or not. You are expected to use your understanding of relationships in math to build functional tools. The only downside is this game requires a lot of your time. Solving something is not done instantly, sometimes going back to the drawing board is required and starting from scratch can feel frustrating. This is not a fault on the game but a fault of the player. If you are quick to temper or don't like when the skills required don't instantly click, you may want to give this game a pass.

I played the demo more than I expected I would and I instantly bought the game upon release. This game scratches the itch Zachtronics used to. Each puzzle has not just a solution, but solutions. Every solve just opens up and opportunity to optimize and optimize. It's addicting and quickly ate up hours of my life.
