is pretty addicting but the price is a bit too much for only 3 hours of gameplay D: I hope they add more stuff to do or idk

Neat game, but would've liked it to be a little longer. I hit 100% in 3 hours. Supposed to be an update coming out next month, so hopefully that adds some content to make it more lengthy. As-is, just kind of a fun time killer. To dev: I highly recommend a New Game + mode for more replay value. Would be neat if every time you New Game +, you unlock a new animal to rescue, which will add to your home. Would make this more of a long burn game, but also need to really add functionality to those home upgrades. Right now they appear purely cosmetic. It's a pretty game, but I don't boot it up just to admire the shack on the beach, y'know?

I had come across this game by watching a video of someone playing it in a leisurely fashion, talking about how it had been a good demo and that the additions in the full game had them hooked on this cozy tedious quaint little game. It sounded and looked great to me, and I was happy to see it was only like 10$. After a stressful overwhelming 4day weekend, this was exactly what I was craving. Normally, when the mood for such gameplay strikes I turn to something more like Valheim and I get to work clear cutting and leveling a random landmass, which can last for days or even weeks. The trouble with that is it takes SO long to achieve the satisfaction of completing the tedious task I set out to do as a means of relaxing. So, I was really pleased that this game had a very achievable end goal in only a few hours - it took me about 8hrs to complete, but that was with me stepping away to do other things (used the log/campfire to regenerate energy), watching stuff on the side and just generally enjoying the chill cozy vibes. I had not bothered to look at reviews until after I had completed my playthrough, and I am confused by all the poor reviews. People complaining about there being no voice lines, among other things. Most of the games I play don't have more than "grunt" voice lines, not actual words. It looked to me like our scruffy dude had signed for food when he was begging in the little intro (not sure if it had been done intentionally); combined with how expressive our character is, I was figuring he was just deaf or mute, and had thought it was a nice to see as someone who is hearing impaired. I can definitely say I got 10$ worth of enjoyment from this game. While an update with a bigger island could be fun, it'd be nice to be able to choose what size to play in the future. I think size based on average playtime would be so cool for this style of game. Perhaps randomly generated islands of a selected size could be a thing, THAT would be ideal, so it could be different every time and increase replay value. As for things that fell a bit flat, there weren't many, but they were there and they weren't surprising with just how new the game is. The dog friend was pretty buggy at times, constantly dragging its butt even while doing other interactions and animations, and got stuck on trees a lot. The little game to feed the dog was cute, but I do wish that feeding the dog would make it need to poop more (for fertilizer/needing to clean more). Only bothered to use the espresso machine once, since the game doesn't require purchasing the house and all that I had an overabundance of money and had run out of stats to boost and the maxed movement/run was more than enough speed for my purposes, so the speed boost from the espresso was unnecessary. It would make more sense for the espresso to give a short lived energy boost (not energy replenishment) since the thing that slowed things up the most was just needing more energy not speed. When I saw there was a seal friend I had kind of hoped that maybe it would also bring useful things, like the dog bringing gold ingots. The seal could maybe bring fish, as a higher energy food since there's a campfire. I found it odd that the toucan just sat in the one spot and you couldn't really interact with it, feels like maybe there's a plan there for it to do something more? Maybe it could gather up fruit for you, or perhaps just leave a special fruit of higher energy value once in a while on the spot where you rescued it? Alternately, just make the toucan fly away - it was odd to me that the octopus was a representative for a quadrant, but was the only one not hanging around. The bed felt a bit pointless, sure it passed night to day, but it only refilled about half the energy bar no matter how big the bar was. I wish it was a set amount of energy, so like early on it fills it all the way (or almost all the way), but as you progress you have to do more than just sleep. Additionally, I think it would be fun if sleeping caused more trash to spawn, so the more you sleep the longer it takes to complete - people who want to extend their play could make use of the bed more often. Also, the outhouse...like the bed, it felt a bit pointless. There ought to be a poop meter or maybe lets you regain energy while you're chilling in there, or maybe just a little energy boost - since you're "feeling a bit lighter". But as is, you can just use it repeatedly to get fertilizer and not buy any. All in all, I thought it was exactly what I had been led to expect and then some - a quaint, cozy, tedious cleaning game. I am curious what changes are in store, I can see a lot of room for fun engaging improvements, but sadly also a lot of potential for things being done that will make me delete this in a heartbeat. Fingers crossed for engaging improvements~
