It's absurd how much people want to hate on the cute dino game lol it's not blatantly missing content in the way of winter season/biome and flying/swimming/ice age animals, you're just making up a game that was never going to exist. The game, especially after the Kickstarter update, is going to almost completely match the vision the team intended. And I only say "almost" because we know the Swamp region(you know, the land that's actually referenced in the game) will not be developed due to a lack of funds. I've been a player since launch—a Switch player, at that—and let me tell you, it was an absolute disaster. Game completely broke to pieces under the simple expectation of being able to boot up. That money was set on fire. And you know what the devs did about it? They fixed the game. The team was constantly active in the discord server, investigating bug reports, jotting down suggestions, and implemented many of them such as the Relaxed/Standard/Rush day modes. They hosted fan art contests where winners would have their original color palettes added into the game(Egg Theri my beloved!!!). They're wonderfully transparent to this day about what's going on. I'll never expect the Switch version to be up to par with the others, but I've still racked up almost 400 hours in it. It's a solid game, chief, and far from a cheap cash grab. Grab the base game + dlc bundle on sale for like $11 if you're still unconvinced. It's $11. For something that could get you over 400 hours of content. If you're into dinos and collecting/shiny hunting, you're going to have a great time.

While I DO recommend this game I will say that there is a few things that make me not play it anymore.. mostly UI/UX interactions like a terrible map that doesn't track a lot of things as well as quests that do not track well. It's hard to explain unless you're actually in the game but it feels unfinished in many ways, but again, it's cute and pretty and fun to play for awhile.

this game feels very different from others in the sense that the quests are a bit different. theyre fairly easy and usually regurgitated after a while. my biggest gripe is the fact that theres a finite number of dreamstones, which are vital to keeping a dinosaur- this means at no point can you have all of the types of dinos on your plot. I also have an issue with the custom order section not being too user friendly, as well as the walking speed is SEVERELY slow and your character doesnt ever get more than 50 stamina to work with daily. otherwise, i really do like this game. i like the way cooking has been integrated, but its just missing something to make it feel more cohesive. i had to look up quite a few things because i felt soft locked at several points playing the game. its very much so based on exploring, rather than doing what it says to do!

Fun, really marvelous art, so so cute!! This is across the board, EVERYTHING is great looking. Naturally, I love all the different dinosaurs, it's great fun to collect them. I like the NPCs and the storyline. The different areas are really neat. PROBLEMS: SHORT DAYS ON NORMAL: The days go by so fast it makes it extremely stressful, so right off, put it on the relaxed mode. Then the game is much more enjoyable. INVENTORY TOO SMALL: The beginning inventory of 20 spaces is ridiculous. The first AND ONLY upgrade gives you a whopping FOUR more spaces. The fact that you really should be carrying around taming items will permanently decrease this space by 5. Seriously. That is REALLY BAD. NO RUN SPEED ENHANCEMENT: You can run, and you can use precious endurance to sprint, but you will never ever get any upgrade to run at sprint speed without losing your endurance at a laughable rate. And in town you can't use your mounts so you get two choices: run like a snail or wipe out your endurance. This is extremely annoying. ENDURANCE TOO LOW: It's set to 40 and that is it FOREVER. If you run fast, you'll blow through that number in a couple of minutes. If you do any gardening, down it goes. The only way to refill that endurance is to go to sleep or eat food. Which means, guess what? Use up your precious inventory to lug around food. STUPID.

I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. It feels like a kids game, mostly because the main plot is kind of thin, and they really want you to collect dinosaurs more than anything else. I could see it being a lot more than it is, but it would take a good overhaul to do it. The relationships with the NPC's are slow and kind of weak. There isn't much real bonding or emotional gravitas to make you feel connected to them. The physical game-play is very good, and the graphics are as well. I've enjoyed it mostly, but can't shake the feeling that it could be a bunch better.
