Half-Genie's pirate antics are still delightful and still chaotic, making it perfect for some lighthearted fun.

It's just as fun as when I played it on the 3DS back when it first came out. the control scheme on X-box is reminiscent to the 3DS and it handles like a dream even on my old laptop (which is like... 12 years old). I think this is the best Shantae game period. instead of animal transformations you use pirate equipment and it's really fun to speedrun in it's unlockable mode where you start with all the pirate equipment. The humor is on point, the music is dance worthy, the pixel sprites are gorgeous and full of personality. and for those new to the Shantae series, you do not need to have played the prevoius games to understand what is going on. It will fill you in on vibes alone to know what's happening.

I wanted to play this game since my early childhood and i am not regretting buying it. By far one of the greatest metroidvania.

★★★★☆ 正しい方向への一歩 Better art, better controls, better achievements, better writing, better overall compared to the last game. Better enough that I revised my score for Risky's Revenge to reflect how much more fun this was. It's not really a metroid-like. The level's aren't interconnected like one, but that's not why I deducted points. There's a noticeable difficulty spike on the world 4 boss and with the final level. It got frustrating. There's also a bizare, plot critical reference to the He-man cover of DJ Miko's cover of What's up by 4 non blondes. Like yeah I know that I'm めちゃくちゃゲイ.
