9.0 /10 That rating is only for those of you that can understand what gaming was like from 1995 - 2005. If you're under 30 you won't like this game (Most likely). You see this game isn't about having the best graphics or non stop action and or FPS. This game is a simulation. It requires you to think and to use your brain in ways that some of you just have not experienced. That being said, if you have a good imagination and don't mind some mid-level graphics, what you will find here may just blow you away. You see this game (as I told my 30 year old son) has 10x more depth than anything modern they are putting out. The kids these days (for the most part) just don't have the attention span to learn how to play something like this let alone actually get immersed in it. If the idea of being a submarine Captain in WWII, hunting and stalking your prey and then running deep to escape into the black depths -before circling back and striking again- has any interest to you, then perhaps you may have just found a hidden gem that some of us old timers recall quite fondly. Best ww2 uboat game ever. Look for GWX OneAlex or Fifi's NYGM total conversion mods to enjoy an improved and updated experience.

i like playing this as i have parkinsons and this game runs a pace i can deal with i can imagin myself on board the sub trying to sneak passed the escorts.

This one's sentimental to me cause my old man used to play SH2 and 3 when I was a kid, and the most supreme honor he could bestow little me was to let me press that big red button to fire the torpedoes. Then got my own PC and started playing with the same CD versions he had. Now I can keep playing it, even though it's old, it still works, and it's still fun. And I love to tell my pops how good I fare at sea, beating his old records from time to time :D
