NOTE : 14/20 Sniper Elite Resistance takes place in parallel with Sniper Elite 5. The most important thing to say is that game is mainly targeted for the fans of the franchise. So i recommend it, as like the other games, it is still enjoyable and the killcam are still on point. But there is a big problem : this game feels like a lazy DLC. Even more, some mechanics have been downgraded, and a really bad sensation of stagnation and regression, for examples in characters models and animations, that are really ugly, ressorts. The new character does not have the charisma neither the voice acting we could have with our dear Karl. Concerning the Story mode, as a veteran of the franchise, i really disliked how some maps were "strangely" and strongly similar to the previous installments. The first and last level should not be considered as levels. As the first one is a tutorial, and the last one a quick and long distance target with not much replayability. Despite that, I really enjoyed the core gameplay, (almost strictly the same as the previous game), but felt really underwhelmed by the level design and the syndrom of "déjà-vu", along the adventure. One other problem is the lack of improvements in gameplay mechanics. Worse than that, the pathfinding is to me more intricate than Sniper Elite 5, and the character's movements suffer a real regression in this opus. The running is aproximative. The cover is not better. And above all the fields feel more closed than ever, with a lot of invisible walls. Many times it is difficult to go through doors, an in the end, the most unerving thing is to climb stairs or mounds. It is clearly bugged and this part is obviously unacceptable for a game with a price that high. Also climbing a ladder and jumps are pathetically slow and rigid. And if my memory is correct, those problems were not even present in the old games, or at least the mechanics were more polished. The character upgrades feel really useless. The weapons seems to be well balanced, but the end The Karkano 98 rifle, The Thompson and the M1911, will be the best weapons to play with, in terms of damage and accuracy. Of course you will be able to find different approaches of gameplay, with the type of rifle you are using : Damage, Stability, BPM, Silenced, or Mobility. A real versatility can be felt with the kind of tactics you choose. The Coop Mode can be very enjoyable as long as you play with a friend or a good and intelligent random player. ( Yes there is a little bit of toxicity in Coop and Survival modes). The Axis Invasion represents one of the best feature of the game. It will force you to pay attention to every detail of your visual and sound environments. The adrenaline and tension it proccurs is really well convoyed. The Propaganda mod feels useless as there is no replayability, once you have done the challenges. The Survival mode is literally the same as SE4 and SE5, with one map literally copied/paste from a previous game. It can be fun in coop and with the goal of getting all medals, but nothing impressive. The multiplayer is chaotic and is absolutely broken. There is too many disconnections, and the servers are capricious. The sessions can be most o the time unbalanced as the high levels get equipments far more efficients than the new players. Also there are glitchers that use exploits to break the game and detroying the experience of the other players. Denuvo is a joke as there is a lot of cheaters. Yes i never thought encountering so much cheaters in this kind of games. Also the maps and most of the game modes are not really fitted for a sniper related game. Also too much players for the map size. It becomes really difficult to be consistent for a killfeed. Also in all modes (campaign, coop, survival and Multiplayer), the ribbons are bugged and many time even if you accomplished missions, they won't unlock, and you will have to retry again and again (it is especially infuriating in MP). Overall, the animations and characters models are uglier and more lazy than SE5. The maps are mid and feel recycled most of the times. There is no significant improvement in the all experience. Only the DLC's feel pleasants to play and refreshing, and i consider this as an overstatement. But still, if you are a fan, take it at a low price, and you will be in known ground with a quite similar experience as SE5. Slightly less good, but enjoyable. If you are a new player, do not hesitate and enjoy the best Sniper Elite game of all : Sniper Elite 4. Final Note : I really hope this game is just a candy given by Rebellion to please us, while they are giving their best for a Sniper Elite 6. The formula still works, but they definitely to step up for the next game. Edit : The Last DLC, Mud and Thunder, feels very generic and sadly does not have an enough verticality to enjoy the plain role of a sniper. It does not contribute that well to the game. Maybe..., if we have it, maybe a season 2 could implement new features, probably polished for the future game. May excuse my English, it is not my first language.

Really DLC for Sniper Elite 5. No real game changes. Don't pay full price for it That said, always fun to kill Nazis.

Only play this if you liked Sniper Elite 5, and want more of that, but at a noticeably lower quality. This felt like it was made by the B-Team at Rebellion. It is not worth full price. Get it during a good sale, but again, only if you've already beaten Sniper Elite 5 and all its DLC.

The Sniper Elite series is one of my favorites but when this game released I read a lot of negative feedback so I didn't buy it immediately. Eventually I decided to give it a try because I was looking for a new game that would also play well on the Steam Deck. I absolutely love the game. I don't understand the negative feedback at all saying the game feels like Sniper Elite 5 DLC. It is a whole new story, a new character you play as, and a few new things to do such as Propaganda Mode. The maps are dense with places to explore and collectibles to find and like all Sniper Elite games, you can take your time slowly sneaking past everyone, go in guns blazing or a mixture of both. The game mechanics haven't changed since Sniper Elite 5 which was some of the criticism but it still feels great so it didn't need to change. Graphics wise the game looks great. Is it visually stunning? For 2025, no, but it looks good and is easy to run. In fact, it easily runs on the Steam Deck over 60 fps on medium settings. After Sniper Elite 5 I was ready to finally leave the WW2 setting and move to a new conflict. I was thinking Vietnam or Afghanistan would be really neat. But after playing this game, I'm glad they stayed in WW2 Europe. The setting is still very fun.
