I feel conflicted about this game, I like the idea of it but I don't want to compete with other players, I have enough of that irl, I will be waiting for private/custom servers to be supported before playing it further. However it does have a lot of potential, so going to give it a thumbs up.

Edit: Regarding the single player controversy, yes it's an MMO universe, but I'm playing as a single player and it's totally fine. There are 1000s of planets, plenty of resources. plenty of space to build. There's no griefing. You can ignore other players if you want. It's not that deep bro. Now on to the real review. It's hard to summarize this game, but for me it's super fun. I played the demo a week before release and was instantly hooked. It's kind of a mashup of No Man's Sky and Satisfactory, but taking only the core essential systems from both. Basically you're a space miner where you explore, gather resources, research science, complete jobs, upgrade things, level up skills, then build bases and large automated production chains. Also there's a player-driven market for trading. For me, it's a perfect blend of exploration and progression, and will likely keep me busy for hundreds of hours.

The negative reviews and in-game complaints about "mandatory multiplayer" are fair. The game is improperly tagged as both single player and MMO. The tutorial is technically single player but the whole rest of the game is an MMO. That said, I'm having fun so far. It's a space MMO with a focus on exploring, mining, and upgrading your ship early game. Mid-game looks to be about building/joining a corporation (guild) and setting up bases to automate resource production. End-game seems to be more combat oriented but doesn't seem to be implemented fully yet in early access. It is a bit janky, some visual and audio hitching especially when breaking atmosphere in to/out of planets, but otherwise quite stable. Will update my review later with more details but for now it's delivering what it advertised, aside from the single-player tag.

so far it has been very enjoyable, i think the competition is great, as it creates a sense of scarcity rather than just everyone getting all the best stuff, many people probably wont like it, but at the same time, those of us who do will pour more time and effort into it, my biggest issue so far, and this is more so a personal preference rather than a game breaking bug or anything, is that the camera is also tied to the ships steering, and the only want to unlock it is to hold right click, but then you cant steer your ship, i would prefer camera have some options to set it to current, or orbit and then unlock ship controls as a separate option

SpaceCraft has potential, but it still needs work. From the short amount of time I’ve played so far, I’d say it’s okay and there’s definitely something here, but it does need more polish and improvement. If you’re willing to be patient and want to get a feel for the game early, it may be worth picking up now. However, if you’re expecting a more finished or refined experience, I’d recommend waiting a bit longer and seeing how the game develops. Overall, it’s not bad it just needs time.
