Steel Armor: Blaze of War isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s not a typical action-packed tank shooter—it’s a deep, methodical simulation that throws you into the gritty reality of armored warfare in the late 20th century. If you’re looking for explosions and quick matches, you’re in the wrong war zone. But if you want to manage, command, and fight from inside a steel beast while overseeing an entire battlefield, this may be your dream deployment. This game splits itself into two core components: Tank Simulation – You take direct control of one of two iconic Cold War-era tanks: the American M60A1 or the Soviet T-62. Each tank is realistically modeled, with different crew stations, damage models, and firing systems. You're not just driving—you’re managing your crew, monitoring enemy movements, and reacting to battlefield chaos. Operational Command – Before you even step inside a tank, you’ll be building supply routes, positioning units, and planning deployments on a strategic map. Missions can span multiple days and require logistical thinking, not just brute force. Combat is tense and unforgiving. Visibility is limited, enemy AI is smart (and deadly), and one wrong move can end your mission quickly. This is not a power fantasy—it’s a war of attrition. Campaigns & Content The game offers several campaigns based on real-world conflicts, including: -Iran-Iraq War (1980s) -Angola Civil War -Soviet-Afghan War Each scenario features different terrain, factions, and operational challenges. You’ll need to adapt your strategy depending on the environment, which can be everything from mountainous valleys to desert plains. This is where the game shows its age and limitations. The visuals are serviceable, but not modern. Terrain can be repetitive, textures are dated, and UI elements feel clunky, especially for newcomers. It’s clearly built for function over form. That said, the interior tank views and damage modeling are impressive for a niche title. Watching a shell punch through armor and disable a subsystem is both terrifying and strangely satisfying. Pros: -Deep and realistic tank mechanics -Large-scale battles with operational planning -Authentic Cold War-era scenarios -Highly detailed damage and crew management systems -Strong modding community support Cons: -Steep learning curve with minimal tutorials -Outdated graphics and clunky interface -Limited to just two playable tanks -Requires patience and time to appreciate fully -Can feel overwhelming without prior sim experience Steel Armor: Blaze of War is a niche game for a niche audience—but within that space, it excels. It’s part simulator, part strategy game, and part battlefield sandbox. If you have the patience to climb its steep learning curve, there’s a rewarding and unique military sim underneath the rough exterior. This isn’t World of Tanks. It’s not even War Thunder. This is a thinking person’s tank game—one that asks you to command, not just shoot. Recommended for military sim enthusiasts, armored warfare buffs, and strategy fans who don’t mind wrestling with UI to get to the meat of a deep and immersive experience. Rating: 8/10

This is the secret 4th Graviteam Tactics game. The operational side is exactly the same as Graviteam Tactics, down to the UI. Move your units around, attack, defend etc. The difference here is, when a battle starts you're not a general in the sky ordering units around. You're inside one of the tanks commanding a tank platoon. The rest of the battalion follows the orders you gave them in the operational phase. If you're already familiar with graviteam tactics, the operational side is easy to pick up. If you're not familiar with it, well the learning curve will be steep but it's worth it. There's other tank simulators, but this one has the best campaigns out there.

An immersive tank simulator with real-time tactics elements. Quite unique both in this regard and in the theaters of war it portrays, which are rarely represented in games.

Seriously I was surprised by how immersive and detailed this game I've never heard of was. Even for 2024 it was a lot of fun. There are some flaws such as lack of customization for tanks and the ricochets from the tank rounds are a bit extreme at times. Also the AI is able to hit you at 1.5 mile range with laser precision which can sometimes be daunting. I wish there was a way to reduce AI accuracy but this is seriously a realistic tank simulator and not an arcade one like world of tanks

Amazing tank battle simulator with some strategy gaming thrown in. Campaigns are essentially sandboxes where the AI never does the same thing. Extremely immersive and really fun! Paid full price and regret nothing. Got to love Graviteam games!
