To preface this review, I am not placing any spoilers inside of this. It will just be an honest review of my experience and why I really enjoyed this game. To begin with, in the new age of horror it is very difficult to find a worthwhile game that has good gameplay, story, runs well, and has an interesting hook to it. Storebound succeeds at each of these in it's own way. The gameplay for this may seem basic from the outside, but the puzzles are so much fun. There were quite a few times where me and my buddies were stuck at certain sections for an extra couple of minutes, and then one of us would come up with the most insane solution and it'd be correct. There's no "combat" per say, but the gameplay really spices it up alongside it's beautiful visuals the further you get into the game. Story is where I'd say Storebound excels in, like most horrors of the same genre. You uncover the story in a nonlinear fashion and can find extra lore hidden within each of the levels. I had an absolute blast piecing together character names, theories, and more as we completed each of the Episodes in this game. The game is separated into "Episodes" where you will discover this unique store from many points of view. Each one feels very unique and I never felt like I was playing the same characters even though I was the same person. The game runs pretty well! I had some issues on the last level, but we were also playing on the playtest versions of the final story (mainly due to scheduling conflicts) so I can understand how my performance was likely not optimal. We ran the full game again all the way through when the two last episodes dropped and all of the episodes before the playtest ones ran perfectly. The hook of the game is very fun. Just reading the description gets you in the mindset of this horrific liminal horror space that evolves into various genres of horror before the end. For my personal experience, I got to play with two friends for every level, and this is definitely how you should attempt to play this game as well. There is a solo mode, but it is such a unique game and having two friends along for the whole ride is really worth it. Overall, good game! I hope I get to see more from this creator in the future.

Amazing game! My friend sneezed once and an employee calmly corrected him by knocking his teeth out with a lamp. Would 100% rate this game as awesome.

really fun to play with friends, i was dissuaded by some of the other reviews but it is a very fun proximity chat indie horror game! its like being able to enter the ikea scp (SCP-3008) from SCP Foundation. Really fun premise! There's multiple episodes, and the first one already took us over an hour so we still have lots of playing to do :) super happy with how the game is and its still early access

Fun game even though they only have 2 episodes out. The Meticulous Shopper achievement was challenging. Easiest way to get it was playing with 2 people and having one player wait by fuse boxes while the other player went and did the puzzles on episode 1. Took me 4.2 hours to get all the current 15 achievements. Can't wait for more episodes to be released.

Loved the aesthetic and the overall theme, the game improved a lot since the demo. Gameplay is similar to the backrooms games. There's a bunch of levels each with its own puzzle you need to complete to advance, and entities hunting you. There's little in terms of load screens, one area of the mall leads to the next and it feels like you're progressing through the map. There's a "day/night" mechanic where entities will hunt you when the store is closed ("night") and you can turn the light back on ("day") if you have the resources, making the area safe for some time. There's a sanity mechanic that looks pretty cool and slowly changes the textures around you, making them creepier. The puzzles are the most entertaining out of this "liminal space" games I have tried, very creative and fun to figure out, specially towards the end. The map design is great, each level feels unique even tho they all take place inside the mall. It has VOIP and public servers. My only complaint would be that its a pretty short game currently but if they add a considerable amount of levels then the game could gain some replay-ability, but the content it has currently is enjoyable so its a thumbs up
