Not sure how many hours I spent on this game to be honest. always come back to it. I remember walking into Walmart as a kid and going back to their game section and where they had a small PC game section and saw this. At first the game was a bit over whelming for me but somehow i picked it up. So many stories, so many scenarios. Hours upon hours of just being sucked into different strategies on the set levels and custom ones. Map building. Going against the odds in battles. tad addicting the game is. Even better with mods, not that there are many. This game holds strong compared to its successors. The game has aged but its age does it justice where the newer games cant seem to replicate. Its does have a sandbox feel. Just a solid castle and army builder. Good times.

I recommend Stronghold Crusader to the Steam community. This game brings back incredible childhood memories, and despite its age, it remains one of the best games I've ever played. I especially emphasize the strategic depth, castle building mechanics, and engaging crusader campaigns. It's a timeless classic that proves great game design transcends graphics - definitely worth experiencing.

Played game when I was little kid, countless hours after school etc. Now I have played it again and I still got it, 100+ hours to complete 80 trail missions + historical campaign and also if you like, you can do skirmishes. I had a version which didnt have extra characters (sheriff, emperor, nizar, wazir, emir, marshal, abbot, philip) and also I didnt have extreme or warchest trail. Later on I discovered that there is more lords and trails, since it was long time ago, at the time USB flashdrives were really hard to get for me (kid), I become creative and used floppy disks, I used many floppy disks and eventually got extra lords, but I never got warchest trail. So yeah there is my story, all time favorite, started with Stronghold OG, and then Crusader. Love it, I recommend it, timeless classic. Looking forward for DE.

Well well well, what else to say about this other than it being one of the absolute best and fun games ever made. It was part of my childhood and I started playing it back then when I was a noob and even struggled with the 1st missions. Now after so many years and with the help of the community and a team which created the UPC and so much fixes and quality of life improvements, this game truly passed the test of time and is still fun. Especially the aggressive AI mode is what I recommend for people who want a good challenge for completing the skirmish mode. The vanilla version of the AI on some maps is sadly bad. With the UPC 3.0.7 this game becomes even better and can still be highly enjoyed nowadays!
