Mostly a chill open world survival craft. I like the intricate realistic crafting. I don't like that the developers are MIA and generally uncommunicative except through a 3rd party representative who has retired. The game is good enough to play and have fun at length but buy at your own risk; it could be abandon-ware. I just ran into my first game-braking bug, where the forge gets bricked when you try to craft a bronze axe head. This seems to be as far as the game was developed, so your stuck in the stone age as far as progression. I only give it a recommended rating because I only wanted it for stone age gameplay and don't need bronze or iron tools.

The game is good, I enjoy it thoroughly, have a few hours in it. I feel fairly positive about it but I do have some concerns. Mostly with the information/updates being passed on there is the Discord server which seems to have tons of people on it, just not a lot of game discussion or interaction. I think a lot are still waiting for things to come in it. I believe the designers/programmers are busy doing their real lives and do this as a fill in/fun thing and good project idea for them. I would recommend people who like spending time to actually do things to play the game, it is not the typical modern game format of instant gratification (which I personally dislike), I like seeing that my time and effort are resulting/rewarded. -EDIT- Tried Co-Op mode multiplayer with some friends (I bought the game for them to see how they would enjoy it) and we did have fun!

Very fun and very challenging to figure out game play, Little current youtube info but enough to get started and 242 hrs and i'm just now building structures, A bit frustrating but then i'm 71 so takes me a bit to remember not to poke bears with wood spears. Best survival game I ever played.

This game is surprisingly fun! I was hesitant to buy it because of the mixed reviews, but ultimately tried the demo. Glad I did! I am currently playing on Survival Mode, and am enjoying it thoroughly. I've been bingeing it for hours. Bottom Line: This game is for the tedious survival crafting lovers! The crafting system is very complex. Yes, making a fire is difficult at first. It took me four tries. Your skill goes up every time you try to make a fire, even if you fail. And ultimately, it's just another mini-game. Once you get the hang of it, it's pretty easy. The demo is slightly buggy. It wants you to do things in a certain order. If you go out of order, it makes you do them again. Also, I had trouble with the canoe recipe. It wasn't showing up in the list. However, once I closed the game and restarted, the game corrected itself. I definitely recommend doing the tutorial! I did it several times due to the learning curve and location. For Example: When you start a new game, look at the map. For an easier start, you want to be close to fresh water. If you are on an island that doesn't have it, create a new game. Also, freezing status is no joke. I was away from my fire at night and it began to rain. I went from 90 to 20 health in a matter of a few meters. On a side note, tiny crabs can be used for healing. Not very filling though. Tips: - Once you have a stone ax, make chopping up driftwood for firewood a priority. Always have a few bundles of wood close to your fire. - Keep your tools and several green coconuts around your fire. Night time is long, and you'll get thirsty and/or hungry. - In addition to that, save crafting "little things" for night time, and go exploring and collect during the day.

There is no other Open World Survival Craft with as much emphasis on Survival as Survisland does! It's seriously like the Dark Souls of OWSC genre but more in a literal sense as the movement and some systems are very similar. Yes it's buggy and my be a bit awkward at first (DON'T SKIP THE TUTORIAL), but the crafting, surviving, and exploring are all rich and very worth it. If you enjoy OWSC genre games, you're missing out if you don't at least try this game! Please spread the word and support this awesome game!!!
