I'm incredibly torn on this game, on one hand it's genuinely one of the more unique and interesting concepts a game could explore, stuff that goes beyond the mere bullet hell shooter aspects, with aesthetics, writing and humor that is reminiscent of The Neverhood, so much so that this basically could be part of the same universe. On the other hand, its gameplay is sort of antithetical to its design philosophy; you spend roughly 40 minutes in a few maps building up your power level to synergize with a specific play style, but your play style is constantly changing because the main gimmick of the game asks of you to equip new types of meat parts, yielding different abilities that vary vastly in power. If the damage output was roughly the same to encourage experimentation, maybe, but some items are heavily focused on mobility versus damage, some are single-target while others do more AoE, and this results in an awkward experience where sometimes you're clearing the screen with ease, only to pick up an item or two that essentially leaves you a sitting duck. And the game wants you to change, as your equipment durability decreases over time. Even stranger still is that each time a new map loads in, you are stripped of previous equipment, and when you're facing the boss, are restricted to equipment dropped from the boss. Ultimately, it just may not be for me, which is a bit sad, but I still recommend it, especially for the sale price, because the game has a charm and love put into it that feels hard to replicate otherwise.

Quite fun. It's like Risk of Rain 2 but with stealing meat from fallen enemies and slapping it on your character.

Fun game! The movement is really well done and it is very easy to jump in and just start playing. The concept of swapping body parts is hilarious and there are a ton of different combinations possible, leading to some unique build options.

Fun game, plays similarly to Risk of Rain 2, but with meta-progression

Like Risk of Rain 2 but with a bonkers sense of humor and 100% less Randy Pitchford. MEAT is back on the menu, boys!
