Oct. 2025
So I ended up getting Temtem Swarm on a sale around the start of October, and this is my thoughts on a first hand experience with a survivors type of game. Gameplay was surprisingly solid as far as the roguelike genre is concerned, and whilst there's obviously a learning curve in the early game the progression after the first 10+ hours starts to feel rewarding, while the latter stages also still keep you on edge & especially with capturing eggs to unlock new tems. The soundtrack is pretty fitting for the overall games atmosphere setting of the Archipelago, so that's always a plus when it comes to the music being immersive. As far as the current playable tems are concerned Platypet is a pretty straightforward one but not a bad choice, tho my current favorites so far have been the nature & earth ones based on how their playstyles work. Given that this is my personal take with a game like this, I wouldn't say it's necessarily going to be for everyone's tastes but if you get hooked after the first 1-2 hours you'll likely be off to the races. But overall I've personally been enjoying the game & with having 100% achievement completion in only 54 hours (before the next update brings more anyways). And one last thing I wanted to mention was while I didn't quite fully get through much of the original Temtem game, I'm going to have to tip my hat to Crema for making an experience through Temtem Swarm that could potentially let other people newer to the series to potentially learn more about both the type matchup system & also the very tem's in question. I'm very much looking forward to see what the next big update has to offer, so I'll patiently be waiting until that time.

I'm one of those 36-year old, tired, fallen apart, drained of energy, lack of oxygen, hooked up to life support mentally-kinda dads; that just wants something simple to play whenever the possibility presents itself. I've got 100% achievements in Vampire Survivors, halfway through 100% on Halls of Torment, etc. I love Bullet Hell games! I've always loved the concept of creature catching games and seeing Temtem turned into a bullet hell game is absolutely incredibly amazingly amazing. I can't recommend this game enough. Most bullet hell games are always singleplayer-focused, but Temtem: Swarm does it exactly the way it's supposed to be, when talking about co-op gameplay and even with such a charming and colorful world on top of it. It's absolutely perfect. Fantastic to play solo, as most other good bullet hell games, but the dopamin levels are through the roof, when playing with two buddies! HUGE RECOMMENDATION! Can't wait for more updates! Especially the Luma/Umbra addition, when the game hits 1.0! :D I do hope they end up making something fantastic with the Temtem universe in a new title down the line since I was late to the party on Temtem itself, but since it's not being developed anymore and is considered a finished product, I really hope they'll make something spectacular that can grow on all of us! Huge thumbs up for the future of Temtem!

Highly recommend this game! If you liked League of Legends Swarm this game is very similar, and well done. I am new to TemTem but it's a really fun and playful way of designing characters and skills. Pro: A lot of fun, and replay-ability. Con: Content, as of now seems limited - once fully released this game will be a huge hit I bet.

I... am immensely confused that this game exists. First off, it is a fine game. For the asking price you're going to be reasonably well entertained, even in it's early access stage. It's not a rip-off. Then again, this doesn't really add anything other than a Temtem-skin to a genre that already has plenty of games that are near perfect for what they are. So unless you are like me and really like both the Temtem-IP, I can't really recommend this over the cheaper and arguably better Vampire Survivors. The cool thing about the original Temtem was that, while it was a Pokémon-clone, it brought some very thoughtful and necessary fresh changes to a stale genre that stubbornly refused to learn from it's own past at the time. Which is something I still hold in very high regard. Temtem Swarm however is a clone of a genre that's still fresh and new and then doesn't even try to put a unique spin on it? Which is a shame, because I feel like there would be some legitimate design space for a creature collector + Survivors hybrid game. It's a fine game that smells a whole bit like a cash-grab. Though in an industry where the accepted standard is to sell gambling to children, being a "fine game" that happens to be a bit of a cash-grab seems weirdly... okay? I am not really blaming Crema for releasing this, if this is what keeps the studio afloat and the Temtem-IP alive (and gods, do I want more Temtem stuff...), then this isn't the worst way to do it in my opinion. As I keep saying, it's "fine". I just wish they'd been a bit more creative with the premise.
