You won't find any meaningful decisions here, and to be honest not much gameplay either, but there's just enough to keep you engaged and moving through the spectacular alien vistas Beethoven & Dinosaur have crafted, accompanied by an equally meticulously crafted soundtrack. Worth giving a shot if if you like what you see and hear in the trailers; it's definitely a bit of a walking simulator but it makes the walking feel pretty amazing
The Artful Escape is the perfect game to play while high. The beginning starts off pretty slow and grounded, but the longer you play, the more the game completely explodes into this wild, colorful, music-filled experience. Before long, you’re shredding through insanely imaginative cosmic environments while wearing the weirdest outfits imaginable, and somehow it all works perfectly together. The visuals are incredible. Everything is neon, surreal, dreamy, and constantly changing in ways that make the whole game feel like an interactive psychedelic concert. The soundtrack and guitar gameplay also carry a lot of the experience. Even though the gameplay itself is pretty simple, it *feels* amazing because the presentation is so over-the-top and immersive. What I liked most is that the game fully commits to its style and atmosphere. It’s weird, emotional, creative, and artsy in a way that made it really memorable for me. This isn’t the kind of game you play for difficult gameplay or deep mechanics. You play it for the experience, the music, the visuals, and the feeling it gives you while you’re moving through these absurdly creative worlds.
I 100% it on Xbox and I 100% it on Steam. Its a wonderful and trippy game. The art is fantastic. It's like a waking dream or a safe psychedelic adventure. It's says it's unsupported on Steam deck but It played wonderful on SD with all settings on high. Highly recommended. It's rather short, but it it pops up on sale, grab it.
