Pros: - Good Story - Good Graphics - Not taking cults too seriously Cons: - Combat system was a bit frustrating -buttons not intuitive on keyboard - Getting animation locked for too long dodging during combat. - Not enough materials to craft the weapons you need to effectively target creature types (certain crafting ingredients too scarce) - Would have preferred a playthrough path where "drinking the koolaid wore off" -Choosing an ending based on 'which type of creatures you killed more and which items you used' seemed odd when you don't give players the right items at the right times to do that effectively

Over all 7.9/10 Combat is simple but fun to master. The Talent system is one of the coolest systems out there, very unique. Make sure to backtrack!! Look around they hide stuff from you, but its not a hard search so have fun. Graphics are fairly ok, feels like premium indie quality. The Story is fine quality. If you play a lot of spooky games you will feel right at home here. and the DLC is free( DLC- The combat is much harder with a shake up on powers ) Over all 7.9/10 game. Awesome game to get this on sale.

This game was really cool. Definitely an interesting take on the survival horror genre. The main story is pretty short, only about 7 hours and that's with a lot of exploring. I would avoid paying full price but if its on sale its pretty good. It is a small budget indie title and it certainly felt that way at times, but this is overshadowed by the amount of love you can tell went into the game. There were only about 12 devs for this game so its pretty impressive what they were able to acomplish. The Story and atmosphere are really great, the highlights of the game for sure. The combat is janky but there is enough of a skill curve and rhythm too it that it remains entertaining for the full length of the game. If I had to pick a game to compare it too I would say the sinking city is a good comparison. Overall I would give it a solid 7/10 Not the most amazing game in the world but still really cool. I have not played the DLC yet so I cannot comment on that but I liked the main game enough that I will make sure I get to it soon

So, it may be this isn't for me, but as someone who enjoys horror games I feel the need to weigh in. This is a case of "I wish Steam had a middle of the road option" or something a little more in depth than yay or nay. The game has an interesting premise, with some interesting ideas. Immediately with the three bars for your Mind, Body and Spirit I was reminded of Eternal Darkness, which I loved, but it felt like I never had any issue with mind, while I was constantly starved for spirit, and other than making you run from a fight, mind never really seems to be an issue when drained, which I feel they could have learned from Eternal Darkness, assuming they took any inspiration, and made more scary psychadellic hallucinations when you have low mind, as opposed to the screen just draining of colour. The other thing is that I noticed on the Steam page it encourages you to pick your battles, because your resources are limited, which rings totally hollow for me because you are never really sure what rooms are important, if a room has resources you need, if you're going to be coming back to an area later so it may be worth battling enemies within the moment, because more than once I spot other doors that I can't do anything with now, which I assume I'll be coming back for later. Without any of this knowledge, 'picking your battles' is a frustrating task. The combat is passable, light attack, strong attack, different weapons for different enemies, but your weapons break constantly and you need to craft new ones using limited resources. The "magic" is interesting, but I found myself constantly out of spirit because the things to replenish it seem to be more rare than the resources to heal your mind or body. The whole package is pretty alright. The story and writing I can't comment on, it seems very cheesey and the voice acting can be a little weird, but I can enjoy that. If there is ever a second game or if the team makes another horror game, I hope this game made for a great learning experience, and that things could be tightened up and improved. Get the game on sale, and give it a try, maybe you'll vibe with it more than I did.

This game is way better than it has any right to be. It clearly had a small budget but was made by a team that also clearly had a passion for the project. Play it on the hardest difficulty for a slightly "souls-like" experience which actually requires you to manage your limited resources and choose your fights wisely. Is it a AAA horror game no? Is it a unique horror with aspects rarely covered in horror? Yes. Is it terrifying? No. But neither are the AAA horrors are they? Does it get you with a few well timed jump scares? Of course! Overall this is a great game to pick up on sale and can be beaten in one or two sittings. Perfect for those of us with less time to play than we'd like.
