I found this game after seeing the “♥♥♥♥♥♥ Dungeon” story on Reddit and grabbed it out of curiosity. Ended up really enjoying it. It’s funny in a smart way, not cringe, and the whole thing fits perfectly with its retro look. The combat feels good, the writing has personality, and there’s a charm to it that you don’t see often in indie games trying to be ironic. It’s just confident in being weird. Glad I checked it out. Easily one of the most entertaining surprises I’ve played this year.
My impressions from the demo have been confirmed: CHDC is a really well crafted game. Sending me back in my prime gaming time but with today’s input. The UI is great, the art and music are great, I am having a great time so far and on top of that : it’s fun (quite rare in today’s video games). Expect inventory, leveling up, dungeon exploration (obviously), one timely touch combat. Works very well on steam deck. I ll probably edit my review once i finished a first play through. Congrats to the dev for such an achievement!
