I found this game after seeing the “♥♥♥♥♥♥ Dungeon” story on Reddit and grabbed it out of curiosity. Ended up really enjoying it. It’s funny in a smart way, not cringe, and the whole thing fits perfectly with its retro look. The combat feels good, the writing has personality, and there’s a charm to it that you don’t see often in indie games trying to be ironic. It’s just confident in being weird. Glad I checked it out. Easily one of the most entertaining surprises I’ve played this year.

Very slow but also pretty cute and gorgeous-looking game. The game is dialogue heavy, but it's written in a way that I don't mind being long-winded: it has a very lighthearted tone and the humor is funny as long as you enjoy/tolerate millennial humor (references from Lord of the Rings, to Big Bang Theory and friggin' Gremlins). There's also actually funny non-referencial dialogue and characters, like the three brothers who each time they lock you in their rooms so you can't skip the tutorial or the big breasted lumberjack lady who HATES TREES. The pixel art is honestly something to behold: the character portraits and especially splash arts during loading screens are so well made that leaves me in awe every time! I wished there were more inventory slots, as you get filled with junk that you don't know if you're gonna need later on, plus some basically mandatory items like the pickaxe and axe already waste some precious space that you could've used for some other item. Probably my least favorite part of the game is the combat: it's slow and if you missed your attack on the QTE, get ready to wait for all the other enemies to attack one or two times each, each of them with their own QTE to dodge. It makes fighting big hordes a chore and in my opinion it's a flawed system in its core, and mainly the only thing pushing this game from being really good. If that doesn't seem like a huge problem, then you should give this game a go! 7/10

Awesome little game, went in completely blind and was both surprised and impressed with this one. Put in 5.6 hours in a single sitting, only stopped due to a bug/crash I experienced which the developer responded to almost immediately on Discord and will be pushing out a hotfix for it. Absolutely love to see care put into a game!! Side note - the loading screen artwork is FANTASTIC! Kudos to the artist!

i LOVE this game, i just found it yesterday and i had to have it after i spent lots of time in the demo i havent completed it yet but this is a game i want to see to the end of because this just ticks all the boxes for me it's a random dungeon adventure that has personality and humor, something you don't see in a lot of games, and it's all on point. lemme break it down for you, but trust me, if you already like what you see here BUY IT story: the plot is your basic "we gotta get the mcguffin and challenge our rival" etc fantasy stuff but it doesnt need to be more because the way it's told is so funny, these characters you meet will stick with you! also i love seeing the notes people left along the way in chests and stuff, there is a world being built here, this game is funny and intrigiuing for even a basic story, if you choose lore to prioritize you won't regret it gameplay: this is really cool, random dungeons but it also seems to be following somewhat of a linear story which is cool for me. You have 3 choices of playstyle too, prioritizing lore, puzzles or combat (i went with lore). Theres crafting and mining elements too and it never gets in the way of the core gameplay, its fun to keep diving to the bottom of the dungeon and seeing what characters you might meet or what new traps lie before you! when you get into combat, its a system of clicking when the cursor hits a certain area, kinda like a golf game. it sounds weird but it absolutely works, it's addicting as hell especially when you get powerups that help you either slow it down or give you more hit areas. graphics: this game is beautiful, it has standard 16-bit style RPG graphics for the main game and combat but also on the loading screens and for portraits its this BEAUTIFUL pixel style thats like cartoony but also hyperdetailed, it's pixel art taken to its best and i love it so much. also everything in the game is really easy to see and they give you options for different fonts too which is a cool accessibility feature. more games need to strive for this style instead of just looking like NES or SNES sound: all the sound effects are great and punchy making combat and gameplay feedback satisfying and very readable. but the real star of the show is the music, the dev used synths from the amiga and snes days to kind of give a modern retro style to this and OMG IT'S SO GOOD, you're going to have it stuck in your head (especially the dungeon loop, i swear it sounds like straight out of a 90s game ((EDIT: according to the bandcamp ost it's called "A Pulse In The Shadow" trust me it's an earworm))) i can't explain to you until you hear yourself trust me, this is a bop edit: the voices are also hilarious and amazing too if you leave them in the banjo-kazooie Gibberish style, along with the occasional Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter reference voices the game will drop in the combat parts AND NOW THE BIGGEST POINT OF THEM ALL THE DEVS ARE THE BEST! Yesterday I had a game killing bug that was just crashing and locking up my game whenever i fought rats, the devs got in contact with me and worked ALL NIGHT to fix this bug, and they nailed it. I can actually play now, they were so helpful and chill. Lemme tell you THIS IS WHY INDIE WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN AAA <3 you will never ever find this level of support from an AAA dev this game is exactly the game i needed to scrath my itch for a random dungeon game and i know if you give it a chance youll fall in love with it too
