A really amazing game. the music somehow always fits the action. Super killer synthwave stuff. The theme and message is overwhelmingly positive about European heritage and while the game is mainly about destroying evil, it still finds time to hammer that home, that there are beautiful things that are not lost. If you consider the media you consume to be part of a mental diet, this is a much needed vitamin.

Didn't think i would like this game - not really my favorite genre, bought it only to support the devs. Ended up playing it a lot. It does get quite difficult midway through.

Solid gameplay. Banger soundtrack. Challenging even when you have the best equipment. Top-notch humor. 100% anti-DEI anti-ESG. And banned in Germany. Can you ask for more?

TL;DR: It's very good and very based. GAMEPLAY: Tight and precise controls. Large weapon, item, and upgrades variety. The levels all have their unique look and feel to them. And the enemy types are plentiful and varied and all have different attack types and patterns. Although RNG can screw you over and make a run much harder than it should be, this also increases the replayability due to the various combinations of weapons and upgrades you can get. VISUALS: Clearly inspired from retro pixel art, and looks beautiful. They have also added a "retro" filter that makes everything a bit blurry, but this can be turned off in the options menu if you rather would have sharp edges on your pixels. The visual design is cohesive and the various map elements and enemies that you find on a stage looks like they belong there. AUDIO: Good set of distinct sound effects and a phenomenal soundtrack that dynamically changes when you start fighting. STORY: The story doesn't just take a jab here and there at the current geopolitical scene, it engages in an all-out brawl, and I love it for it. The writing is decent and it gives a good reason for why you are fighting and why you venture to the different levels when you do, although it flies completely off the rails at the very end, but in a good way. It doesn't take itself too serious, and can be genuinely funny at times. TECHNICAL: I played this on Linux using Steams built in Proton layer, and after nearly 15 hours I have yet to experience a single crash or glitch. Although there was a couple of times the game would not keep my cursor from wandering off the edge of the screen and over to the other monitor if I moved it very fast, and this caused a death one time due to a dash not being registered, but I am running a rather complex 5 monitor setup and running on Linux. META: This game is an important contribution to the counter-culture of today's insane woke mind virus. Not only is the game free from anti-white DEI insanity, but it openly mocks it.

This game is awesome, it's similar to Neon Abyss but more mature and outrageous, more frenetic and intense. The devs knocked it out of the park, they clearly put a lot of love into it & I really hope they announce a sequel in the near future. I highly recommend this one, The Great Rebellion is sensational.
