You're constantly dodging, attacking, switching abilities and looking for openings instead of simply waiting for enemies to make their move. 🔥 Gameplay The combat is the strongest part of the game. Attacks are responsive, movement is quick and the combination of weapons, skills and elemental effects gives you plenty of room to experiment with different builds. The weapon system is particularly fun because it can significantly change how a run plays. Instead of simply increasing damage numbers, different combinations can encourage completely different approaches. Enemy encounters also require you to keep moving. Learning when to dash, when to attack and when to create distance becomes increasingly important as the difficulty rises. The result is a combat loop that rewards aggression, positioning and quick reactions rather than passive play. 🎨 Graphics & Audio The pixel-art presentation fits the game extremely well. Characters and environments have a strong visual identity, while attacks and abilities are easy enough to read even when the screen gets busy. The futuristic dystopian setting also gives the game a nice personality without overwhelming the gameplay. The soundtrack and sound effects complement the action well. Attacks feel impactful, enemy encounters have good audio feedback, and the overall presentation keeps the pace of combat feeling energetic. Performance is generally smooth, which is especially important in a game where reaction time matters. ⚖️ Difficulty & Progression Blade Assault isn't particularly forgiving when you first start. The difficulty comes less from complicated controls and more from learning enemy patterns, recognizing attacks and understanding how your build works. Early failures are useful because they teach you what you should have done differently. As you become more familiar with the mechanics, runs start lasting longer and your decisions become more deliberate. The progression system gives you enough room to improve your character and experiment with stronger combinations without completely removing the challenge. 🧩 Fun & Replayability The basic loop is classic roguelite: enter a run, fight through rooms, choose upgrades, build your character, defeat bosses, die, improve and try again. I like the game, it's a roguelite platformer where you clear stages until you beat the game or can't anymore then progressively lvl up your abilities and weapons, and it feel balanced. But it remained unfinished as only 1 of the 4 available characters has access to alternative weapons each with different paths.
