I DO recommend this game but context matters... This is a very very very bad game that is extremely poorly written and it seems like nonsensical AI logic, dialogue, and editing got in there too. Either that, or this was made by an alien who has very little understanding of humanity or how humans talk or act. Now, why would i recommend such a game with all the issues listed above? Because its absolutely hilarious. Completely unintentionally of course, which makes it all the better. Me and my brother played this together and we both haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I literally was brough to tears by this game multiple times. The absurdity, the bizarre set choices (having raw sliced hot dogs as the main entree in the "fancy dinner scene" with a little garnish on top), the INSANE character descriptions ("weary faced woman", "sad looking woman", "young looking boy", ECT.), the cringy/alien like dialogue (I'll go back and find examples, that stuffs too good to leave out of this review), the insane, impossible to follow storyline, it all adds up to something completely bizarre and unhinged... And i loved every second of it... Now all that being said, take this review with your own tastes, sensibilities and sense of humor in mind. If something this bad would only annoy or frustrate you, you should definitely give it a pass. I'm telling you... Its not good. THATS not a matter of opinion. THAT is a cold hard fact. BUT if you think you might be able to find the humor in the absurdity, i would suggest giving it a try. I'm certainly glad i did. Better with more people, but not a necessity. Hope this helps, and enjoy the insanity....

There really is no concise way to review this game. Overall, I love it. But that's only because it is laughably bad in so many ways yet impressively built as a game. It is a disaster movie in game form, yet it's unclear whether the devs are themselves in on the joke. The absurdity launches it above some of the more rote choose-your-own-adventure FMV games from devs like Wales. I think it is worth every penny of $12.

"Although I know its source code, the AI system is self updated, I'm afraid I can't do it with my ability." From now on, whenever I'm pestered at work, I'm just going to reply with this masterpiece of a sentence. The Joker Game is a one-in-a-lifetime experience that should be studied and played by everybody who likes FMVs, and especially those who think about making one. In a nutshell, this game is behind-the-scenes footage accidentally released as a product. Everything is bad and low quality, from the writing through the acting to the actual production. However, it's important to mention that it is consistently bad, it doesn't disappoint in the same way as, say, a game with high production values but an absurd, stupid plot. The story is basically a Squid Game ripoff, but presented in Wish quality. Although the first chapters are very linear, later the story branches nicely. It kept my interest throughout, albeit not necessarily for the right reasons. The language barrier between the Chinese developer and the western cast resulted in many uncanny and funny situations, and eye-popping dialogue like the quote above. We are obviously dealing with a very low-budget product. However, I wouldn't say it's low effort. It probably took a hell of a time and resources to even get to this point in the making. See, the developer was able to release it - whatever state it's in - and you can actually finish it. Basically everything works, just not very well. For example, the game has a ton of mini-games, all very different in style and execution. Some of them take 5 seconds to complete, others will occupy you for 15 minutes. Who had the resources to make all these (even with AI-generated code and assets)? Let's just say, to appreciate the good, you have to experience the bad, and for that, I recommend this game without hesitation.

An entertaining game but very much the B movie of FMV games. The interactive sections are mostly basic minigames (block pushing, test tube liquid movement, etc) which are stuck in seemingly at random, with very little relationship to what is going on in the narrative at the time. I had the distinct impression that a large number of the cast either didn't speak English fluently or hadn't learnt their lines, as there were quite a few stilted line deliveries that wouldn't make sense to a native English speaker (one section in particular you can clearly see Anna reading from prompt cards with very choppy editing to hide it! This is after someone is clearly audibly feeding her lines which apparently wasn't enough!). This also leads to the subtitles frequently not lining up with the dialog, although the subtitles are often clearly wrong so I'm not sure if they were made using AI or written by someone whose English wasn't great. The general audio quality is very inconsistent, I'm assuming from the muffled sound that the only camera (clearly being held in one hand by the main character) is also the only audio recording device, as often the main characters lines are very muffled in contrast to the actor the camera is pointed at, I'm assuming a single directional microphone. There are also several lines of dialog and scenes not filmed and merely described with text at the bottom of the screen over stills. Editing also takes a severe dive as the game progresses. It seems like this may have been rushed to meet a deadline. The worst point I noticed was when George flubbed a line and said he'd take it from the top! Clearly every single take was the first take! The unclear prompt which flashes up at times about the game data being refreshed means the archive entries have been updated (which could have been worded better). There are some egregious uses of AI in later scenes as well, again really highlighting the lack of editing, (there is an AI generated news reporter in one of the endings where they have left the vidnoz AI watermark in the corner of the screen!). This is very much not of the same quality as something like the Wales Interactive games, or even some of the other lower budget offerings, but is very enjoyable in the same way as a straight to DVD knock off film is when watched with friends! I'd still recommend it if you go into it with the right mindset.
