The story. So I played the first two Game of Fate in the series and in comparison to them I can agree that this installment isn't as crazy or impactful. I would contribute this to players already anticipating crazy things to happen which may downplay a lot of the big reveals and plot twists in this story. But mind you the story did still manage to catch me off guard and overall came together pretty well in my opinion. The climax of the story will likely not feel as big and pathing to your favorite love interest may not appear as direct but that is the point of these games, for you as the player to explore the story and understand what went wrong and what you need to do to reach a point of the story that makes logical sense. The game does well to follow continuity with some of your decisions which is cool to see that your choices do impact the story to some degree. But one of the big issues I see most people had with the game was how the characters were too casual with our main guy just dipping in and out of time for long periods of time (5 years at least). I get that it breaks immersion but I give the game the benefit for this since at this point I assume everyone has seen some ♥♥♥♥♥ since they've met or known our main character. Besides the narrative, what really drew me into the game were for sure the characters and the actors/actresses that played each of them! The love interests. In this game you have 4 main love interests (5 if you include your main squeeze from Game of Fate 2) that you spend time with throughout the story. In case you don't know their connection to the main character here is the breakdown. Xiaoyu is the heiress to Zhilian (your wife from another timeline) and she has this sort of attraction to you despite the relationship and age gap you have, but something about her draws you to her and that's something you will need to figure out why. Kexin is the daring journalist who is a single mom doing her best in a dangerous world to take care of her family, but she has vulnerable side that she hides away which seems to be due to a lost of trust perhaps because of someone she used to love? Yan jin is a chef that loves to take care of the people around and you always happen to be around when she needs help the most, although not directly tied to the drama around you she is affected by the world and your choices so what will you do to protect her from this madness? Qingliang is our mysterious partner who seems to be aware of changes around her and constantly provides you aid in your time of need, she is badass and resourceful but how does she have all these resources and why does she keep helping you? Zhilian, your wife from another timeline who is still alive to keep your century promise and provides you assistance in time traveling in this game, but there seems to be more to the company managed by her and that is up to you to figure it out. All of them have a compelling relationship with our main character and you spend a great amount of time getting to know each of them which shows you to see of their characters to the fullest potential. Yanjin and her story is my bias of course but safe to say each of the ladies are beautiful and just darn HOT in their own way! But hey why let me tell you this? Go and figure this out for yourself! The villains. Probably not as strong or compelling as compared to the main characters as they don't really provide enough of a narrative to understand their motives. When you play this game you'll notice the villain plays with their food a lot when it would make so much more sense for them to just straight up kill you but that is just me. Also you may not always be sure who the villains are and end up more confused so that is up to you to decide I think? One thing the game does do right though is how time travel does affect people like the first game and how your choices affect villains, like choosing to kill someone or show them mercy, but that is probably something they could work on for the next game! Bugs and glitches. So some translation are still missing and the game does glitch out at time which can be annoying. I'm sure the devs are working on trying to get this fixed up and include more translation for other languages so no need to bash em on things that they already know they need to fix! Other than that, I haven't face any freezing in the game aside the lag but I assume that is coming from my end and not the game. Wants and Needs. The devs brought back the famous Tarot system which you can collect cards of your favorite love interests. They made it very easy to also complete achievements which makes it nice to collect roses to gift and rank up your favorite character! Something that I wish the devs would have kept are special photos and videos from each of the ladies for the dedicated player that wishes to see more of their favorite actress. Heck maybe even an interview from each of the ladies talking about their time in the game and just sharing bits about themselves to fans! But for now guess we can only settle for collecting trading cards which may even guarantee we can collect cards of our bias. Music also influences a lot of these kind of games and the game didn't really have much standout songs or montages that can make an endearing moment stronger with a character. Besides the DDR section and the music flute, the game could have more of those moments with a strong soundtrack. Summary. Overall, I give the game a good 8/10! I really enjoyed the game, I enjoyed the journey through all 3 Game of Fates, and I enjoyed the time I spent with the people from the game. I hope to see a Game of Fate 4 that further refines these mechanics and maybe follow the story of a different character that also ends up time travelling for some mysterious reason and gives more chance for actors and actresses to play characters from different timelines or themes!
