Entertaining Time-Travel Adventure The Silent Age is a bit of a personal time-travel experience for me, since I bought it back in 2017 for less than a dollar on sale, and then completely forgot about it. Eight years ago I was interested in different games and was heavily limited by my potato laptop, so everything I collected back then was rather "primitive" in terms of using my GPU and focused on narrative, so I could play it even at 10 FPS without missing the point. Now, in 2025, my tastes have changed a bit, but I kept noticing The Silent Age silently waiting for my attention for ages (pun intended). So I decided: why not? And I didn't expect it to be this good! I've been into time-travel stuff since childhood, and things like Back to the Future amazed me a long time ago, but then I just... forgot? Gameplay is pretty straightforward here, but I'll be honest, sometimes I had to read through guides to get things done, because of how unobvious the logic was to me personally. But I guess that's the flaw of all point-and-click games: you can't always expect all players to follow the same logic as the developer intended, and from time to time you'll just click around, hoping that it'll work. But the story is perfect! It's not too long, it never gets boring or dull, the pacing is just right and it gets you hooked, making you want to see the next plot twist waiting for you around the corner! And that's what makes The Silent Age a great experience: you are not just blindly clicking on screwdrivers and apples to find an entrance to the next room. You are trying to save the world! Great game, it hasn’t aged at all and is totally worth playing even in 2025!

Backlog Game #4 Category: First Play Status: Completed I had a pretty decent time with this game. The point-and-click gameplay is simple and easy to get into -nothing too challenging, but it works for what the game is trying to do. The story was fine, kept me interested enough to see it through to the end. Sometimes you do have to run around a bit to find puzzle clues - they’re not difficult in terms of logic, but they can be visually hidden, so it takes a bit of observation to spot them. I wouldn't say the game blew me away or left a strong impression, but I also don’t regret the time I spent with it. It’s one of those games that’s just... okay. Not great, not bad — just a solid, middle-of-the-road experience.

A simple point-and-click adventure with puzzles that require objects you obtain in each scene without carryover between scenes, for the most part. Like many of these adventure games, I could see other possible solutions to puzzles if you could just hang onto a few found objects, but the story progression is simple and linear. When you are done with an object, it disappears, so inventory is always minimal. The protagonist is Joe, an Everyman. Just a nice guy pulled into a cesspool of corporate greed and science run amok. Voice acting is pleasant, and the script is easy to understand and mildly witty. The supporting characters were well acted, despite their roles being extremely brief. By the end, I liked Joe enough to want more for him. I also wanted to know what happened to the technology that initiated the whole plot. The art is crisp with a minimalistic, high-contrast palette. Easy on the eyes and appropriate to the time setting. Love the 60s hairdos--accurately portrayed in cartoon form. The musical score got a bit repetitive and evoked a mood that seemed a little spooky for me, but it fit the story line. Bottom line is that this is a relaxing adventure with no time limits. The Silent Age doesn't take itself too seriously while delivering an easy array of puzzles and a story that kept me engaged. I'd recommend it highly to casual gamers.

Neat game with some cool little plot twists. I played the first half in 2017...finished it today. Still made perfect sense, story-wise and probably fits the time traveling theme of things pretty well. It involves a lot of point-and-click game play puzzles.
