I probably wouldn't have discovered this game if Paralives was not recently released and my curiousity of other life-sim games led me to finding this game. And oh man.. Thank you Paralives for this! I dunno how I can explain the best way possible but I'll try.. this game is so deep in every imaginable ways that it amazes me how an indie game of this caliber can have this amount of features and provide you an incredible life-sim experience, and all this while costing so generously cheap compared to similar games. It's a gem in so many ways.
Please DEVELOPERS! I love this game but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE cut down on the ANIMATION LOCKS!!! (especially when talking with people and washing your clothes!) I want to play the game, not wait for my character to finish speaking or stand around for 30 seconds waiting for my clothes to wash when I could be cooking in the kitchen! Would also like to see speed options to fast forward time. Love the game so far; keep up the good work <3
I like a pixel-art life-sim game as much as anybody, though the "genre" is kind of dominated by farming sims thanks to Stardew Valley. So when I heard that this game was about to come out and it focused on living in a big city instead of a little farm next to some village, I figured I'd give it a shot and I bought it as soon as it was released. I promptly installed it and gave it a try but I quickly bounced off because the controls were clunky on Steam Deck, the systems weren't that clear and it had a fair amount of bugs. I recently decided to give it another try on a whim, and I'm happy to say that most of my complaints seem to have been fixed. The bugs have been mostly ironed out, the systems have been reworked and you now have a lot of options to adjust the level of difficulty in the game, and you can even re-spec your character without having to start all over again. Hell, you can even choose a "free play open world" game instead of the regular version and that means you get to skip all the feature-unlocking quests and you also get a lot more options to choose the kind of character you want to play from the start. You want to already have a family? A degree? Some money? You can. I'm about 20 hours into the game and I've unlocked about 2/3 of the stuff you can do and I've even managed to make a decent living without having a traditional job by living off the royalties of a couple of albums I've recorded and doing some gigs with my band, while moonlighting as a model and novelist while I work on my degree, so I'm doing pretty well. My only complaints at this point are that the boxing mini-game could use some work in order to make it more responsive and fun instead of boring and frustrating, and on a more nitpicky note that there's not much variety regarding how characters look. Your own character and most NPC's look kind of samey, so more options for clothes, faces and hairstyles would be cool. I guess I'm spoiled by the variety in games like SV and Fields of Mistria.
