really fun little strategy game if you like turn based combat. i did feel like the leveling system feels a little clunky at first but overall the combat is super fun. 8/10 recommend !!

A fun game, though albeit a tad shorter than I was expecting: it's very easy to finish a run which makes the game feel "complete" too soon. Nevertheless it was enjoyable, even if it would be cool if it was a tad harder to accomplish things. The shade mechanic, where you leave a shade of your character that can still be attacked after you move to another place, was very interesting and quite a neat addition as it made planning harder and therefore more engaging.

If you like Into the Breach, you'll like this game. That being said, there are a few notes that take a few points off. The "mirage" system which leaves behind a shadow which still takes damage when you move is unintuitive, largely unexplained, and not very fun to engage with. The campaign is also long by comparison to Into the Breach and you can only really change play styles at random when the game offers to swap out units for a reward. Gold/items are also not very useful except in specific circumstances making rewards feel pretty meh. None of these were really deal breakers for me, but I played through the game one time on hard and that's probably enough for me.

Nice tactical game. More like a puzzle where position and choice of one of the 2 skills is the key. You probably wont spend many hours with this game, but those few hours I gave to it I enjoyed a lot. You will play with party of 3+1 chars, each having 2 skills and each skill can be upgraded twice - so not too much there. But on the upside there is vast choice of chars (to be unlocked). SO to summarize - not much content in terms of skill trees and upgrades, but enjoyable if you like "Into the breach" concept. I liked it, but I guess I wont spend more than 10 hours here. Still good enough to me.

I got this on sale, and it's not really my flavor but I will recommend it. If you're into Into the Breach style game, it is challenging and forces you to think which is more than I can say for most games. Very solid, good work. I just felt like there's too much unnecessary restriction and strange quirks for me, even though they do make it more challenging. Not being able to use the new characters you recruit until a new game, not being able to take back your move, not having access to the merchant at every camp... These are all layers of difficulty heaped on a game that already punishes you pretty hard for not thinking everything through. Sometimes I just want to see what options are in my range and pull the character back if I don't see anything I like.
