good game for umamusume fans; bad for average party game enjoyer game mechanics, artwork and music are extremely good sound effects are too overwhelming and content quantity is extremely poor. the story feels more like an excuse to reach some sort of content quota, and the cpu for the story rarely changes above beginner and easy difficulty honestly, sale price is already a bit too much for the content worth. however, this game has HUGE potential. i pray with fukukitaru that cygames will come back to make this into a solid competitor to other party games. i still enjoy this game nonetheless if that helps your decision which is why i recommend it

Rest in Peace, Haru Urara. 2025/09/09 You will be missed but never forgotten. May you continue to put smiles on everyone's faces. I bought the special edition of this game with it being 70% off on sale. I was mulling on it for a long time and decided to pull the trigger only because I've been itching to play Umamusume but I heavily dislike gacha games, not that I have anything against them but it's just not my cup of tea especially when the gameplay itself is so RNG-heavy-- although I have started enjoying it a little more than I did before this. I think it's as fun as most people would expect it'd be (take that as how you will) but I just have really low standards and have a weak spot for any cutesy pixelated games especially with the feature of designing your own club room. It feels like how old games would perform back in the pre-2000s with its stylistic choice which I think is on purpose with people mentioning it to be inspired by the Kunio-kun series. It is quite the turn-off how little mini-games there are but playing it now, it seems that's also because it feels like they were trying to appeal to a single player approach (by fleshing out the mini-games itself and creating a story that would "make sense" around it rather than just being a weird spin-off of whichever game they can squeeze into it); alongside the whole idea it's supposed to be a party game, which I find odd. I will say though that the games are a bit more fleshed out than some would expect-- at least that's how I feel about it, and rather than a "mini-game", it felt more like a... "midi-game", if that makes sense. For the life of me I genuinely can't say with the utmost confidence that I recommend buying this game but I don't *not* recommend it either. I've been enjoying it but mostly because of the fact I feel happy of not having to play gacha and control the lovable horsegirls. I do fully believe it's a game that'd mostly appeal to people who are into cute stuff, horses, umamusume, or little attention to details which I have fun just staring at the background and seeing cute little "easter eggs" here and there of other characters. The game feels very alive and polished, it may feel "lacking" but it doesn't feel "empty"-- again, if that makes sense. I do still think it's overpriced for its base price, it's most probably licensing, but I don't think it's that much of a bad buy considering the game encourages you to replay it to unlock things here and there, with being able to design your own room, and getting more of the game in a sense. It's also because I feel like this game would just be tons and tons better with friends and a huge part of it was built with that in mind. Those kinds of aspects when it comes to games are really hard to truly estimate until you just try it out yourself. I've had more regrets of buying other games that are well-received compared to this. Although it's a shame most of my playable horses aren't playable, like Mejiro Palmer or TM Opera O but I'm more than ecstatic that Sounds of Earth is. It's also super cool how other horses that I've never really heard much about are here too as playable characters.

Before I say anything, the game does NOT justify the original price tag, I got it 70% off. It is absurdly overpriced. However, it is a fun game, despite the lack of content. There's only 4 minigames plus a secret 5th rougelike minigame. So I can only recommend the game if it is under $20 There is no TM Opera O, so it is automatically bad
