Spoiler Warning!!! I bought the game on release and i dont regret it. there's certainly some moronic complaints (you know who you are) but doing any research into them youll find theyre either bogus or just skill issues. The changes from 4 floors to 2 per area makes the game feel more fluid and less like im climbing mount Everest. The addition of (as of current build) 2 new characters, Black Rabbit and Dante having their own unique playstyles makes the game feel a lot more refreshing to play, meaning not all runs have to be the same. The option to be part of the beta test has been a lot of fun, finding silly bugs and engaging in the community has certainly been a highlight of my experience. I am excited to see the future of the game and if i could i would definitely buy it again.

With how this game has been updated I think it's gotten a lot better than when it first came out in EA. The mana and followers took a little time to get used to. If you haven't played this or the first one it takes several runs and upgrades from the hub before it gets a lot easier like most Roguelikes. The only thing I would change about the relics/spells is I think one or two boots from the first game became a pick up spell you activate with mana. I didn't care for that change. All of the other new spells and relics add something cool and different to the game.

Whether you are new to Undermine or coming here for the sequel, this is a solid game choice. I would recommend picking a copy of this game up. Critique: While it's always smart to have a good amount of familiarity between a sequel and its predecessor, I do feel that the amount of item and boss overlap is erroring on too much carry over. At minimum, I would expect all bosses to be fresh. Instead, at least three bosses (Selt, Mortar, and Noori) make their return to this sequel.
