I leveled an entire city block and still lost. Watched the replay and saw I didn't hit any units, nor were there any units there to begin with. For this transgression against my unquestionable tactical genius I am going to bomb the next city twice as hard as payback. 10/10 would learn nothing from my mistakes again

fun, but unplayable for new players, go play Broken Arrow, they kicked me out of almost every server because i was under lvl 20. like bro, how do you expect me to get better if i can't play against real people? as of recent, the situation has improved, still wish there were more casual players, but it is a 8much* more enjoyable experience

The game is fine, and in fact is very good. The undisclosed and rampant use of gen AI imagery and voices throughout the tutorials and loading screens is very disappointing. All of these elements feel like they were placeholders awaiting the genuine art and artistry....but it never emerged. As gamers we appreciate art - games are art. Unfortunately this developed has chosen genAI over artists as a cost cutting and time saving measure, but it may cost them far more than their savings. I won't refund the game as there is a lot of technical knowledge and development that has gone into making it - this is demonstrably a good game. However I don't think I'll endorse this developer in future unless they are up front with their approach to their medium, or directly support human artists.

WARNO is a real-time tactics game without base-building or resource mining. Instead, players manage battlegroups built from a vast roster of Cold War-era NATO and Warsaw Pact units, spanning infantry, armor, air, and artillery. Each battle is about map control, positioning, and logistics. The improved AI and command mechanics make both single-player and multiplayer skirmishes feel more dynamic. Units behave more intelligently — taking cover, retreating under heavy fire, and reacting to threats more realistically than in Wargame: Red Dragon . WARNO emphasizes authentic Cold War doctrine. Each faction and division reflects real military organization — from US mechanized infantry to Soviet tank regiments — with unit variety and limitations that make every battlegroup unique. The command layer adds depth: players can give structured orders, coordinate artillery, and call air support with precision. Combined with the new battle planning tools and more readable UI, it’s both accessible for newcomers and rewarding for veterans. Campaigns are strategic and replayable, with persistent unit losses and operational decisions between battles — similar to Steel Division 2 , but more polished. Visually, WARNO impresses with detailed models, realistic explosions, and atmospheric lighting. Forests burn, tanks kick up dust, and helicopters cast long shadows over rolling terrain. The improved camera system lets you appreciate the battlefield chaos up close. The sound design is top-notch — engine roars, radio chatter, and distant artillery all blend into an immersive soundscape that nails the Cold War aesthetic. Performance is stable even in large battles, though massive 10v10 matches can still tax weaker systems. The UI is clearer and smoother than previous Eugen titles, with better tooltips and streamlined battlegroup editing. Still, the learning curve remains steep. New players will face a wall of units and stats before things click — but once it does, WARNO becomes one of the most satisfying tactical experiences available. WARNO is Eugen Systems ’ most complete and polished game to date. It captures the tension of Cold War warfare with unparalleled tactical depth and realism. While not for the casual RTS crowd, it rewards patience and strategic thinking like few others. 9/10 DISASTER | BAD | MEDIOCRE | OKAY | GOOD | GREAT | AMAZING | MASTERPIECE Reviewed on: Win11 Home 64-bit, Intel i5-11600K, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB Prime GDDR7, 32GB DDR4-3600 RAM, 2 x Kingston NV1 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Internet Broadband 1000/1000 Mbit If you like this review, then please consider giving it a thumbs up.
