Wolf & Rabbit is a compact narrative adventure developed by Sealtail Studio and published by LR Studio that embraces the simplicity of RPG Maker design while delivering a quietly unsettling fairy-tale experience. At first glance, it presents itself as a gentle storybook encounter: a wounded young wolf named Carroll collapses in a meadow where he meets a cheerful rabbit girl gathering flowers. Out of kindness, she offers to take him to her grandmother’s house to rest and recover. The premise feels almost folkloric, deliberately echoing familiar fables about wolves and rabbits, predator and prey, trust and danger. Yet from the moment Carroll steps inside the cozy countryside home, there is a subtle sense that something beneath the surface is not quite right. The gameplay revolves primarily around exploration and puzzle solving within the grandmother’s house and its surrounding areas. Movement is classic top-down RPG Maker style, with players interacting with objects, inspecting rooms, and triggering small environmental puzzles to unlock new spaces or story fragments. There is no traditional combat system, and the focus instead lies on atmosphere, observation, and dialogue. Progression unfolds through carefully placed clues and character interactions, encouraging players to pay close attention to seemingly minor details. The puzzles themselves are generally straightforward, relying on logic and exploration rather than complex mechanics, which makes the game accessible while still providing enough engagement to keep the experience cohesive. What truly defines Wolf & Rabbit is its tonal duality. On the surface, it presents warm pixel art, soft colors, and gentle music that evoke comfort and innocence. The rabbit girl appears friendly and helpful, the house feels quaint and welcoming, and the pacing is calm. Yet the narrative gradually introduces hints of unease—subtle inconsistencies, strange events, and story revelations that challenge the player’s assumptions. The game flirts with light horror elements, not through jump scares or graphic imagery, but through psychological tension and thematic ambiguity. It leans into the discomfort of not knowing whom to trust and whether kindness masks hidden motives. This slow burn of suspense elevates the story beyond a simple fairy tale into something more introspective and slightly haunting. Replayability is built into the structure through multiple endings. Player choices, exploration thoroughness, and the order in which certain events are triggered can lead to different outcomes, including several primary endings and additional dead-end scenarios. This branching structure encourages experimentation and revisiting the game to uncover every possible conclusion. While the full experience can be completed in just a few hours, seeing all endings adds depth and provides a more complete understanding of the narrative’s themes. The short runtime works in the game’s favor, maintaining narrative focus without overstaying its welcome. Visually, the game’s pixel art aesthetic is modest but effective. Character sprites are simple yet expressive, and environments are crafted with enough detail to convey mood without clutter. The limited scope of the setting—a single house and its immediate surroundings—allows the developers to concentrate on atmosphere rather than scale. The soundtrack supports this intimate design, using understated melodies that enhance the emotional tone without overwhelming it. Sound cues are subtle, reinforcing the quiet, reflective pacing of the story. Despite its strengths, Wolf & Rabbit is clearly a small-scale indie production. Players accustomed to more mechanically complex adventures may find the puzzles too simple, and those seeking high-intensity gameplay will not find it here. The interface and controls reflect the standard RPG Maker framework, which can feel somewhat basic. However, these limitations rarely detract from the intended experience. The game’s charm lies precisely in its restraint—its focus on storytelling, mood, and thematic contrast rather than spectacle. Ultimately, Wolf & Rabbit succeeds as a short but memorable narrative piece. It uses familiar archetypes to explore trust, vulnerability, and perception, weaving a story that lingers longer than its runtime might suggest. By blending gentle presentation with underlying tension, Sealtail Studio crafted an experience that feels like an interactive fairy tale with a darker undercurrent. For players who appreciate narrative-driven indie games with subtle horror elements and multiple endings, Wolf & Rabbit offers a thoughtful and atmospheric journey that proves small projects can leave a lasting impression. Poor translations aside, this game was enjoyable. The soundtrack and artwork truly carry the experience. The hidden timed events (medicine crafting) and stealth mechanic (required for the true ending, optional for the bad ending) were unexpected but fun. I'm glad I gave Wolf & Rabbit a chance.

Wolf and Rabbit is not a bad horror RPG maker game. The story is at best alright. the lore is not deep but is enough to know what the world is about. Characters are good and well made. Gameplay is somewhat lacking with couple puzzles and 3 chases thoughout the entire game. But it is reasonable as the game total length is only about a hour and a half long. Achivement wise, its fun but requires a couple playthoughs. The game is simple and cheap to grab as well. It's a game that i recommand picking if you just want to play a short, simple, and cheap game with a good story with decent puzzle (although the last password is wtf) I give this game a 8/10

Surprisingly captivating rpgmaker game, even with a little jank here and there, and, well. It being google translated. Not that you wouldnt understand things due to that at least. The game is also both cheap and short, why not give it a shot.
