Look, seeing over 140 hours on a pixel indie game might make you question my sanity, but let me tell you—WrestleQuest is genuinely something special. It’s an absolute love letter to both the golden era of pro wrestling and the classic 16-bit RPGs we grew up with. Mixing turn-based JRPG mechanics with pro wrestling sounds like a fever dream on paper, but it actually works perfectly. The combat isn't just about spamming your strongest attack; the "Hype" meter dictates the flow of the match. You actually have to work the crowd, taunt, and build momentum to boost your damage and unlock your best abilities. It captures the actual psychology of a wrestling match, which keeps you surprisingly engaged. The story is packed with humor, wrestling references, and massive nostalgia hits, especially when you cross paths with absolute legends like "Macho Man" Randy Savage. The pixel art is gorgeous, and the world-building shows just how much the devs actually care about this culture. To be completely honest, it’s not a flawless masterpiece. If you're a completionist trying to squeeze every drop out of the game like I did, the combat loop definitely gets repetitive in the late game, and a few side quests feel a bit like filler. But honestly? The immense charm, the killer soundtrack, and the overall vibe completely overshadow the grind. If you grew up watching 90s wrestling or if you just love a good old-school RPG with a unique twist, do yourself a favor and pick this up. It's a wildly entertaining ride that is absolutely worth the price of admission.

Very fun and funny game. If you're a fan of 80's & early 90's wrestling, you'll love this game. If you like early FF games, or games like those, but want a different setting, this is the game. Do I recommend, OH SI!
