Idle Prestige - Yes, but points are based on progress. Active Play - Nothing extra Visuals - Lots of little pixel units attacking and being slaughtered. Special Mechanics - Nothing Special Cash Shop - No It's an alright idle. It's a pure idle in the sense there's very little to do besides watch number go up. The prestige tree is pretty boring and I think after one or two I just rushed the end of the game.
It's a fine, and true to its name, idle game. If it were priced any higher, I'd feel like I'd been robbed of my money and time. This is interesting as it lands just where it needs to without being obnoxiously simple and a slog to beat. To this point, this is by far the easiest and most straightforward entry I have played within this genre. To some, this may be an absolute blessing. However, I personally enjoy the progression and quirk associated with the puzzle solving, statistical battling of most incremental games. That charm is just not here. There was absolutely nothing new, or clever, added. Instead, it plays out like an old flash game with about as much to it. Upgrades are largely the same and focus on number adjustments rather than weird combinatory interactions. Some units are weaker to certain "colors", but it doesn't matter and there isn't some breakpoint you have to push past. Compared to something like Gnorp where you can get hard stuck at a plateau before prestiging, you can just wait it out in Zero Stress King: Idle Defense. I suppose that's the point. Ultimately, it's fine as a background source of entertainment while you work on other matters. Not worth staring at to stress test or speedrun. Only consider purchasing for 4 or less dollars.
